Szechuan Chinese Restaurant - Abilene

Their manager Fan was amazing at helping us determine what could be made vegan. They had a few options but they were amazing! Way better tasting than anything else in Abilene. Would definitely recommend if passing through this town.

The best I have found in Abilene. I always get the tofu family and have them put the vegetables I prefer with extra spice. When there isn’t much of anything by the way of getting vegan, at least there is this.

I went to this restaurant because the description on HappyCow said they had several vegetarian dishes that could be made vegan. However when we went, we were told that the veggie/spring rolls weren’t made with egg, and that the tofu soup was vegan. So we got both (as another vegan reviewer on this app did), as well as the veggie lo mein. We ate, got home, and started feeling sick so I called back this morning and was informed that the spring rolls don’t “contain egg” but the wrapper they’re made with does (which 100% should’ve been disclosed), and that their tofu soup is made with chicken broth and bonito (fish) flakes. 100% disappointed about the misinformation about this. The ONLY vegan options that are actually vegan are the veggie fried rice without egg and the veggie lo mein without oyster sauce (which we ALSO weren’t informed about).

Everything was tasty! And they have awards for being the best in Abilene! Must go!!

First visit my friend and I both had different plates we sampled each others and they were both great! I love how it is hot fresh food not been sitting on a buffet for hours. They have the BEST spring rolls and a very good lunch serving size with a soup! Our waiter was wonderful however the second time I went with my sister our waitress was on the lower end of tentativeness. Highly recommend the general tso!
