Location: Near Bushof/ Close Market Ambience: relatively small and manageable Asian-style restaurant. For my taste, but not quite authentic. Food: Sushi is very good if you haven't eaten it yet and want to taste this kitchen once. Price: The price/performance ratio is correct. You can order a good number of sushis for little money. Conclusion: To taste sushis, this small restaurant is very suitable.
It 's a popular place for students but the quality of food service wasn 't there for me. The menu has a good selection of authentic looking Chinese dishes but half were crossed out, and only one dish has decent amount of vegetables. My main meal was stir-fried beef slices with black bean sauce, which tasted great except the beef itself, the beef slices were over tenderized completely void of taste. To be honest, I could not tell if its beef or tenderized leather belt. IMHO, one needs to use the cheapest grade of meat that had passed its expiration dade, plus chemical tenderization to recreate a dish with this level of completely tasteless meat. However, the sauce used to cook the dish was delicious, and the timing of the wok cooking,火候 in Chinese, was excellent. My appetizer was a sweet sour ribs which somehow came out last when I was almost done eating. It seems freshly made but rushed. The taste from the sauce didn 't get a chance to soak in, I could sense the raw pork taste which ruined what could have been a great appetizer. The service was slow due to one person serving the entire place of 20-30 customers, including ordering, serving, collecting processing payment cleansing up the tables. The poor server was trying to keep-up by increasing his movement speed, he yanked the menu out of my hands with lighting speed before I was completed done with ordering. I forgot to order a drink, he never asked never got me a glass of water either.
Miyabi is a Chinese restaurant. When we walked in all the customers were Chinese, so that was a good sign. The menu is in German and Chinese with no English version. One of the waitresses spoke a little English, but I could tell from the pictures what we were ordering. My colleague couldn't eat spicy food so we went with sweet and sour pork ribs, beef and vegetables and stir fried vegetables (which turned out to be lettuce since they didn't have anything else). The food was authentic but average. This place doesn't have bathrooms and is cash only. I may go back to try the spicy beef noodles for lunch, just to compare with the Gold Standard, Chef Chu's.
Very authentic Chinese food; spicy chicken was very crispy and tasty. Ordered three dishes together with spicy fish水煮鱼and cabbage, and it was more than enough for all three of us:
