I speak enough to politely order my drinks and work through simple interactions, and I still felt profoundly unwelcome here. Perhaps the bartender was having a rough night, but it was the first time my wife and I felt uncomfortable and unwanted since being in Japan. The beer, however, was excellent.
I agree with others, if you are not Japanese, you are not welcome here. This is made is obvious from the bartender and the Japanese patrons. Why have the sign in English (it says Craft Beer Bar in English not Japanese) if you don 't want us there? One patron literally said, Yankee go home! and laughed hysterically. He was clearly hammered but was also clearly not joking. Gave the extra star for the beers...they were good.
He doesn't speak any English and the menu is also not in English. But worth trying the craft beer options. I randomly chose from the board, to my luck it was great
Decent selection of Japanese craft served in ultra thin pint glasses. Ambiance is cozy and bland in this windowless space, but rotating taps drunk by people who like beer bring warmth.
Good prices, good beer on tap. The environment is relaxed and more in the adult side with jazz games. The only minus is that the staff speaks only Japanese, but it is mentioned at the front door. If you have good Japanese skills or have a Japanese friend, highly recommended.
