The processed products such as sausages and bacon are very delicious. They are also very appreciated as souvenirs or gifts. The menu also includes sausage sets that go well with beer or wine!! Since it is not an accommodation facility, we often eat curry at the restaurant, buy sausages, etc., and eat them at home. Recently, it seems that the shop is mainly open for takeout and selling processed products due to the coronavirus. (As of February 2022)

I think I saw Walkman in a railway travel magazine or something about 20 years ago. I had always wanted to visit someday, but when I passed by the shop at the end of June this year on my way to Biei city, I completely forgot about it. While organizing my travel photos, I regretted not stopping by Walkman, so I made another trip to Biei with the main purpose of trying their ham and sausages. I must say, it was worth it. I ordered the 5-item platter and peach juice, and could feel the owner's dedication in the taste – it was delicious. I usually don't drink fruit juices, but I ordered it on the waitress's recommendation, and it was pleasantly light and delicious. The platter may have different items each time you order, but it comes with a pamphlet so you know what's included, which may come in handy when ordering online. Everyone has different food preferences – some people like Schauwessen, while others prefer the red octopus winnner. Please continue to make delicious products with your dedication, sir. The only disappointment was that the dry salami will not be available for sale until next year.

Upon visiting, you are greeted with a delightful aroma of smoke. The system seems to be a bit complicated due to COVID, but those with proof of vaccination can dine inside the restaurant. For those without proof, outdoor dining in the garden is available. There are two types of takeout options: one where the food is warmed up and ready to eat within 30 minutes, and the other where the food is kept cold with ice packs for takeout. The quality of the food is exceptional, with a high level of craftsmanship evident in the smoked items and the herb-infused dishes maintaining a fresh aroma. Even the grain mustard served as a condiment is of exceptional quality. It is clear that the chef has undergone significant training to create such dishes. Considering the quality, the prices are quite reasonable. The items are also available for purchase online, making it worth buying even at a premium.

ワクチン接種証明書があれば店内飲食できるとＨＰでは記載されてましたが伺ったときは全面中止にしており、テイクアウト限定でした。 電話番号を伝え出来次第コールバックされるので取りに行く、後は外に置いてあるテーブルでご自由にというシステムです。 景観がまさに日本の原風景、外は外で爽快です。 夏真っ只中だとちょっと厳しいかも… ソーセージ盛り合わせはスモーキー、ジューシー、さっぱりいただけるもの、肉の食感も様々で新鮮でした。

「シャウエッセンのが美味い」と抜かしてる味音痴が来るとこじゃないですね笑 めちゃくちゃうまいです。こだわりも感じますし低評価つけてる人はクレーマー気質だと確信しました。
