Contribuiți la feedbackWe went there for guitarfest the place was crowded and there were only 2 waiters. The service was awful we had to order our food 3 times. Was quicker to go to the bar for our drinks than be served. When the food arrived it was very poor quality. I would not recommend this place. If you go to an event there, eat elsewhere first
The Chile en Nogada here is authentic, flavorful, and full of the complex flavors that are a trademark of this traditional dish. Our meal was so good, we'll certainly return here on our next trip. The Chile en Nogada dish starts with a not-hot poblano chile stuffed with a savory/sweet mixture of meat, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and cream, is topped with a walnut-infused cream sauce, and sprinkled with fresh pomegranate seeds! Its colors represent those of the Mexican flag, and it was originally created to celebrate Mexico's independence from Spain. The BBQ Pork Ribs we ordered that night were tender, meaty, and flavorful with just a hint of chile. A big bravo for the chef that night (with whom we shared our appreciation, though we did not get his name and for our server Miguel Angelo (wouldn't you know a Michaelangelo was behind the artistry of our lovely evening? !
We go here for a quiet lunch and to watch the iguanas sunning themselves. Good food, nice setting, shaded at noon Beer is cold and salsa good.
El Pueblito is a little off the beaten tourist track, on Heroico Militar near La Papa Loca and Carmelitas. It isn't a white tablecloth sort of place, but the surroundings are comfortable a big, open courtyard and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Our family has had good luck with a number of the Mexican specialties on the menu. The chiles en nogada are my personal favorite, featuring a delicious combination of earthy and slightly sweet flavors. The food is authentic Mexican, and perhaps not every dish will suit your taste. That said, the overall experience of eating here is so pleasant that I'd say any visitor in Zihuatanejo for more than a few days should give it a try.
Maybe too many people for all the wait staff during Guitar Festival. Rude waiter, forgot our order, and we saw him standing in the corner having cocktails with other waiter while we had no food or drinks come our way for an hour.....ouch. Food was not worth the peso that night. 170 peso for a chunk of meat [bone] in sauce on plate. hmmmm? Sorry.
