Contribuiți la feedbackYou have to come to Zermatt to eat the best sushis. A long time that we have not eat such tasty and fresh sushi/sashimi . Perfect experience, staff extremely helpful and very positive attitude. To try to taste and to enjoy.
We enjoyed cheese fondue and Fondue Chinoise very much during our stay in Switzerland but having had Swiss and Italian food for ten consecutive days or so we were excited to learn about Myoko Japanese Restaurant. Myoko is located in the heart of the shopping area of Zermatt. It's not exactly on the main street but it's just a stone's throw away from it.It offers both Teppanyaki and sashimi/sushi/tempura etc. Like many other restaurants in Zermatt as well as other cities in the country, it offers an open-air dining area for those who would like to enjoy fresh air and see the other tourists go by.The head chef of the restaurant is a Japanese gentleman. The food was so amazingly good that we ended up going there for three consecutive days (two dinners and one lunch)! We tried sashimi, tempura, udon etc and they were all very delicious. Our kids are prawn tempura experts and they have been to more than forty major cities of the world. On our third visit they had no hesitation in rating Myoko's tempura as one of the best they had tasted.
We ate here at lunch on our 2nd day in Switzerland, so we were still adjusting to general Swiss Sticker Shock. But even still, 26 francs for udon noodles does seem outrageous in retrospect. However, we were so desperate for some Asian food (after not having it for over a week) that we just bit the bullet and dined here. The udon was good, the shrimp tempura in it was well-done. Hot green tea was lovely. There were a lot of real Japanese tourists in here (I'm guessing they were all homesick for Asian food too) and at one point the chef came out because they wanted to order off-menu (from what I understood of the conversation). The chef was Japanese, so this place is pretty legit. But we purposely steered our kids away from the sushi (which they love) because the prices were so high. Sorry, kids!
The food here while being expensive was excellent. Just be careful when you book, I thought I was booking the Teppanyaki table however when we arrived a group had taken all the seats so we were just in the main dining area. It was not really a problem for us as we just ordered off the menu and the food was outstanding, however I did notice another couple who thought the same and left when they realised. So if you want the man cooking in front of you then make sure that is what you are asking for when you book. If you cant get the table I would still say go as we all loved it.
From the moment we entered the restaurant we felt very welcome. Such a nice and kind service. We took one of the fish (tuna) sashimi menus and enjoyed every course of it. It all was delicious and fresh. Service was great, when not being able to opt for one taste of icecream, we got two!
