Rake's Place - Zanesville

Wow, amazing food and great service. Everything was cooked properly and seasoned perfectly. Front house team was friendly and attentive. If you are in the area, Rake 's is a must go establishment. The prior poster(s) complaining about the prices being too high is out of touch...a similarly appointed/sized meal costs the same at Red Lobster, but Rake 's quality is superior in every sense of the word.

Love the atmosphere...... the staff is wonderful..... thought the food was a little pricey for the portion they give you but the french onion soup was amazing.... my wedge salad could have used a little more bacon..... my salmon was moist and delicious but the rice pilaf lacked flavor. A few ladies got the fish n chips and a chicken sandwich and both the fish and chicken were too dark for my liking.... not golden brown like they advertised. Would I go again... yep! It was busy in there and the kitchen was probably overwhelmed so I will definitely give them another try

First time at Rake's Place. It was super good. Nice clean restaurant with great service! We tried several things including the crab cakes (best I've had in a long time! , parmesan crusted chicken breast (so good recommended by our server , brussel sprouts and zucchini squash sides. And the rolls they serve with the meals . . . They kind of look flat when they were brought to the table. But they were so fluffy and oh so good! Served with whipped butter and a cup with cinnamon sugar to dip it in it desired. Two thumbs up for sure! We'll be back!

Heard great things about this place. I eat out frequently and never have a complaint. I was passing through and wanted to try it. This was the worst food I have ever had. The scallops were tasteless and undercooked, one lobster tail was $40, and it was the smallest, worse lobster I have ever tasted. No taste at all. I did eat 2 scallops and some of the lobster. No salads available said they were totally out of lettuce. The oysters tasted weird. Honestly everything smelled and tasted weird. The shrimp in the shell was the only thing edible, and it was just ok. I also ordered the black and blue burger could not eat it. It was on some type of Hawaiian bun VERY strange for this type of sandwich. It also smelled and tasted weird. I did box everything up took it home. Ended up throwing it all away. About 1 hour after I got home, I had severe stomach pain and became sick. SO I had the burger, add on one lobster tail and 5 scallops, shrimp and oyster appetizers and a baked potato. My bill was $111 plus tip. Here?s the tip I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! I don?t care what it costs if the food is good but this was a horrible experience. I should have told the waitress/manager but I did not do that. The waitress was nice and efficient.

To be honest, I live like 3 miles from this place and didn't know it existed. great personal amazing eating, bar / child sitting art by vibe. great place to bring a date. outside it looks very ma and pa, but the inner is a completely different mood. freshly renovated and they even had USB ports at each stand.
