Contribuiți la feedbackI am giving this restaurant 2 stars only because the woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice, understanding, and apologetic. However, I was extremely disappointed with how they handled a mistake in the kitchen. Instead of fixing the burned parts of the dish properly, they covered it in a ton of Parmesan cheese in an attempt to hide the burnt parts. This kind of behavior is completely inappropriate and makes me question what other basic mistakes are being made in the kitchen. If they don't care about the quality of the food they are serving to customers, then they probably don't care about other important kitchen tasks such as cleaning, hygiene, and food safety. This is not only concerning but also dangerous, as it can lead to food-related illnesses and contamination.
The restaurant was very appealing in appearance. The food was tasty and my son particularly liked the thin crust cheese pizza. However, our meals were served separately and I didn't receive my bread with my pasta until I was almost done eating. I have a soft spot for small family-owned restaurants, but the cleanliness of this place was lacking. There was a strong odor of sewage or gas that made it difficult to enjoy our meal. It was a place we wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Opting for takeout would have been a more enjoyable experience.
My partner and I were searching for a new restaurant to try, and Google directed us to Picnic Pizza Italian Eatery. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised! The salad was fresh and delicious, and the thin crust pizza was incredible. The crust was perfectly cooked and allowed the flavors of the Italian sausage, mint, and mushrooms to shine through the melted cheese. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and offered great recommendations. I regret not remembering her name. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who hails from Italy and was very welcoming. This experience has solidified our belief that this is the top spot for Italian cuisine. We will happily make the trip from Canal Winchester to Zanesville for another meal (especially pizza)!
I usually take pizza and always good! but we went in to eat one night before they closed and that was cold or warm. the Jalapeno-Poppers were warm and the pasta that john ordered was cold, but sauce was hot. Maybe it was a night. I can check again. but pizza is always good when I pull out.
