It's within walking distance of a Deen supermarket, the train station, and the town of Zaandam, which has plenty of cafes, bars, falafel/currywurst/broodje shops, as well as nice views of the water. We got a suite at the hotel, which provided adequate space for 4 adults. The A/C was a little difficult to configure, as was the safe, but there was a kitchenette equipped with silverware, plates, mugs, and a large table to sit at. The bathroom is considered huge for Europe. Breakfast is 10 euros p/p at the hotel, and I think it's worth it. It is served in the restaurant downstairs, which is cute and airy, and there's a solid variety of food offered. The breads are freshly baked and the espresso machine makes great coffee!
Re branded as part of the Best Western chains, this reminds you of US hotels. It's spacious, modern, and offers a decent value if you are willing to sacrifice the convenience of being in Amsterdam comparable to Amsterdam but larger rooms. Rooms: Spacious rooms that looked like a normal US hotel room office desk, closet, room to walk around all sides of the bed. Thermostat on wall to control temperature. Multiple TV stations in both, English and Dutch. Bathroom: Some rooms come with the transparent glass door that offers minimal privacy. Our double room had the glass door but it was frosted and the walls were painted white, but our suite room had a glass door. The shower had a glass door with a dark laminate tile that gave a modern, upbeat feel. Train station is about 5 min walk and it costs 3.60Euros and 15 min ride each way into Amsterdam Central Station. Bar is available on the ground floor and elevator worked which are big for us.
