Aherne's - Youghal

Would highly recommend here, booked into the restaurant that evening and the food was delicious

A little expensive for the fare offered to be honest. Would not consider another visit.

Ahernes Accommodations is the best place to stay in Youghal in my opinion. The service was impeccable, the room was quite spacious (we had a deluxe room which was large enough to spread out and not be on top of each other even with all our luggage), breakfast was delicious, and the area was safe and quite central to everything from restaurants, the beach, bars and even grocery stores. We felt completely safe walking back to the hotel in the middle of the night, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat!! The seafood restaurant has the best food—I highly recommend the seafood chowder and goat cheese bruschetta. Cheers to the owners!!

Would not recommend or ever return. We went to Youghal last weekend and we’re looking for a place for dinner. Photos and reviews looked good but it was disappointing. Between us we had some Hake special and fillet and striploin steak. Out of those three hake was the better choice eventhough it was over cooked and in a pool of tomato sauce. Striploin steak was medium well but the cut or what it was it was very tough, the mistery remains how the edges of the steak were medium and the centre was well done. How is this even possible. Fillet steak was not cooked on all sides, they forgot to cook one side. Because it was medium this is very unsafe not to cook on all sides. Two of us who ate the steak, got sick afterwards. The whole weekend away got ruined. When the waitress came to take away the food she saw most of the fillet raw on plate and didn’t ask anyone if food was ok, when I tried to get her attention got ignored. Looks like some of the staff don’t care about customer service at all. The lady that toor our orders was lovely but her shift ended I guess or she was busy. Don’t know if this is lack of staff training… This was our experience, important to share as I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
