Kyouka Ramen - York

Very efficient service, friendly staff, ample parking for the size of restaurant. Decided to have the shoyu ramen noodle soup, very nice broth, garnished with nori, slice of pork, slice of chicken, spinach & a perfect half of an egg. A few ramen choices, some appetizers such as shrimp tempura or gyoza, a donburi rice bowl.

Price is kinda over, and taste I will give average. Don't know why so packed during lunch time. Maybe there is no too many choice around ...

With no shortage of restaurants that serve ramen in the Markham area, this one has the best base soup stock in my local experience. Its flavour and 'texture' is distinctly superior...which should be expected given this is their sole forte. The menu is small and they make no effort to have a broad offering. You come here for quality ramen and that is what you get.

I went there on the weekend for lunch. The taste is ok, and soup is just ok. It is chicken broth which is a different from many other places that I went. Usually I finish the broth at other places but not this place, it is like chicken broth with garlic in it. Weird. Something that I cook better at home. The portion of the toppings on the noodles are sooooo little. You get like 2 thin slices of meat and 1/2 eggs and a thin slices of fish cake. Totally not worth the $11. There are many other places in Markham/Richmond Hill that are better taste and better value. Will not return.

I was pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant that has taken over what I believe used to be a Coffee Time in a strip mall that is easily missed.
