Backyard Garden Restaurant - York

I absolutely adore Monkeybeans. My first visit was a few years ago, and ever since then, it has become my favorite spot for Szechuan cuisine. If you enjoy spicy Szechuan flavors, you must give this place a try!

This restaurant is a hidden gem that primarily serves Asian clientele and has yet to attract many non-Asian customers. The interior is tastefully decorated, and the menu features unique dishes like Peking duck, corn with pine nuts, and xiao long bao (soup-filled potstickers).

I chose to begin my dining experience at one of my favorite establishments, the Backyard Garden Restaurant, located at Metro Square. They also have two other locations, one at Midland Finch and the second one at Hwy7 Leslie.

Backyard Garden is not a fancy restaurant. The is plastic on your table as a tablecloth and this is replaced for each set of diners. But the food is good. Spicy and plentiful. And authentic.

Le service n'est vraiment pas terrible. Et pour le décor on repassera! Mais c'est très bon! Si vous aimez le style traditionnel Sichuan épicé c'est le bon endroit.Very good cuisine Sichuan Style, no decor, service not so good, prices are great. Lots and lots of choices! They speak Chinese and English. You can take out too.
