Turtle Jack's - Richmond Hill (Vogell)

Ordered the Thai salad...it was very good. Service was good, however, once the bill was paid, could not get a glass of water or a refill of my coffee. We were there on a Saturday and there was an 'open mike ' going on. The performers were terrific and they served as a pleasant background to our meal. However, in the evening, a band took the stage and were so loud, it was almost impossible to have a conversation. Despite asking that the sound be turned down, it was not. A month later, returned to have the same salads. This visit, the 'open mike ' was very different. It was so loud that it was impossible to enjoy the company of my companion. Asked the staff to turn down the sound, and this was done...for one song. Then, sound turned up to full blast again. Walked out and went to another local restaurant for dinner. This is a terrible business practice. Because I do not venture out very often during Do not venture out very often and, when I do, I want to have a conversation with my companion...not fight to talk/hear listen to a concert. The 'open mike ' is a great idea, and when done properly, is a great addition to the dining experience but it should be done taking the diners into consideration. Being told to sit at the bar is not a solution. Would love to return, but would not consider doing so until I can actually have a pleasant experience.

I was disappointed with the full-size garlic Caesar salad. It had a bland taste. Certainly not exciting and I won't order it again. My guest found his blackened Basa to be of average quality and taste.

AVOID THIS PLACE! We came for a nice dinner and were served cold inedible food. We waited 15 minutes before even been greeted and another 45 for two meals. Restaurant was only half full. No check in or refills. We didn’t realize that sitting on the patio meant zero service. Nothing was hot and everything was drowning in mayonnaise. Tried to find our server who seemed to have disappeared. Absolutely disgusting after having great experiences at other locations.

The outstanding service started as soon as we entered the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess, after confirming our reservations, we were seated promptly at exactly the section we had requested. Throughout the evening, we were well looked after by all of the staff. Food was not bad, but nothing to write home about, but we would certainly be back because of the excellent service !!

I used to come here occasionally, mostly with coworkers, but it's been a while. On this occasion, I was picking up a Rib Kit for Two. It included a full rack of ribs, BBQ sauce, baked potatoes with all the fixings, coleslaw, Caesar salad, butter tart, and ice cream. It was a complete meal! Everything was nicely packaged and properly labelled. There was very little to do other than heat up the ribs and slather the sauce all over it. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender! The BBQ sauce brought it to life and this was a very enjoyable meal!
