Boardwalks - York

I hadn't visited this restaurant in quite some time, but my friend suggested we meet for lunch because she had heard great things about their crab cakes. Our waitress, Karen, was fantastic and truly enhanced our dining experience. Naturally, we ordered the crab cakes, but we started with the crab dip, which was absolutely delicious. The homemade chips were also quite good. The crab cakes were broiled to perfection, packed with generous lumps of crab meat. After our meal, we enjoyed some time catching up, as we’ve been friends for over 33 years. We then decided to indulge in dessert and coffee, and I must say, the warm brownie was decadent. We ended up spending three hours at the restaurant, and nobody rushed us—it was a wonderfully relaxing and delicious experience.

The food here is fantastic and the portions are generous. I really enjoy the complimentary wine, which I believe is of high quality. The service is excellent; the waitstaff are friendly and attentive. The only reason I’m not giving a full five-star rating is that the ambience is a bit underwhelming. While the atmosphere is acceptable, it doesn’t quite match the exceptional quality of the food!

We returned to Boardwalks because we were craving seafood, and the restaurant we originally planned to visit had closed early due to bad weather. Since it was January, we decided to sit inside, and we were the only customers at the time, which made for good service. Our server was attentive, but I noticed that the other staff members were loudly complaining while they cleaned the other side of the dining room. This made the smell of the mop bucket a bit overpowering during our meal. The food was consistently good, although my soda tasted slightly flat. Overall, I feel that this restaurant can be inconsistent at times.

My god children and I visited this restaurant 3 times in 1 week! We had two different waitresses, Evie and Taisha ! These ladies were incredible! I've never met nicer servers in my life. We also ordered a take out later that week. A sweet young gentleman named Owen took my order. He was very sweet and rushed effortlessly to fulfill my order. He was very attentive and helpful unlike his counterpart who was playing on the company iPad. I had a great service and will be coming back again with my 8 godchildren!!!! The only complaint I can fathom is the loud hoodlum music coming from the kitchen. Thank you! The Asian Sesame Salad was also great and I would recommend it to anyone. My crab cakes were rather dry!

We are always happy with our food here quality, portion size, taste. But the service has suffered over the last couple of years. We wait too long to be acknowledged and the staff rarely checks back to see if everything is okay or if we need anything. Such a shame.
