Big Jim's Seafood House - York

This place is simply amazing. Took my wife and family here for the wife's birthday this past weekend. The ambiance and the people are great. Service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to our entree's. The chef came out to greet us at our table as we were dining which added a truly classic touch to our experience. The bar is laden with all types of drinks one might want and there is no shortage either. Big Jim's has just gained new regular customers. Way to go!

After driving by at different times for 3 years, I finally decided to stop and try Big Jim's out. The oyster basket was yummy. I also took carry out home for my family of 4. It was a hit. Great burgers, and fish sandwich. To have the cook come on out and apologize ,that he was the only only cook today, I give this a 10 today. Thanks so much. I'll be back. Also, my service was excellent .

This was an amazing experience. The quality of the food was great at a reasonable price. The owner very down to earth and a really nice guy. I would definitely recommend Jimmy seafood.

Big Jim’s to me is a place you can always grab a beer or two but the crabs are off. Period.I’ve ordered crabs from here at times due to Paddy’s and Kelly’s being out of crabs and proximity to where I live.50-75% of that time crabs are watery. It’s probably that they are steaming dead crabs but the quality of what you are paying for is not there. Big Jim’s is a place to grab a couple of beers but stay away from the seafood and go to Kelly’s or Paddy’s for quality crabs. Thanks!

Haven’t been there in about 2 years. My boss and I decided to get lunch from there today. It was horrible. My boss got cheesy fries that looked like they were heated up from days ago. The cheese was hard and so were the fries. She also got the seafood chowder. Just a couple pieces of shrimp, the broth looked like gelatin. Only carrots were in it. No potatoes or any other vegetables. I got Maryland crab soup. Tasted like something out of a can and way overly spiced with Old Bay that it practically burned my mouth. The only good thing was it had was a decent amount of crab. The waitress didn’t even give us any plastic ware or napkins to use. Luckily where we work I could run back and get those items It all was very disappointing. Will never go back especially considering what was paid for the food. What a shame for a restaurant that used to have Great Food.
