The Red Lion - York

Enjoyed our stay a couple of years ago, so came back to enjoy this lovely pub again. Room was comfortable and clean, if a little warm (didn't open windows for fear of the mosquitoes). Made to feel very welcome again and despite the Covid restrictions and being busy, enjoyed some excellent service. The pub has done a great job at making things work despite the restrictions. Lovely dinner and breakfasts while were here. I'm sure there will be further visits.

We deliberately decided to take a break. we arrived, a porter was available to bring our luggage to our room. enormous room, great view of the bridge, river the green. our dinner was booked on time and with good humor. in the did was the...whole time we spent in the red lion with log fans, always very good from early morning to late evening. we can't wait to go back, maybe in one of the huts next time, due to my difficultness to get. personal management, lyndsey in particular, would no longer have done for us during our stay. hasta la vista folks.

After a walk along the beautiful river, we drove for the pub when it began to rain. it was after 2 o'clock so we only expected to get drinks, not food. the young lady who welcomed us offered us a place at the fire to dream and tell us that eating is served. we had a really good lunch, a great service and a friendly reception. thanks to the entire team for everything

For more than 30 years we have been regularly visiting burnsall and the red lions. we were there and have eaten there when it had private, and we were happy to visit this year again for a meal when in burnsall. We visited last...year to dinner when it was just taken over by the brewery. our meal was then excellent, with good service and very good food. we were therefore worried this year after we had read so many negative reviews from late. we decided to book a table for dinner on Friday night. we shouldn't have been worrying. we ate in restaurant and enjoyed both good service and very nice eating. expensive than in the last year possibly, but this reflects only what is happening in the economy and the prices are very comparable to other local restaurants. our food was delicious and well presented. the ambiente was beautiful and we had a nice evening. I would recommend the red lion to everyone.

I have called here today for lunch and made very welcome. the food was boiled at home and really delicious. service was friendly and excellent. we enjoyed our lunch. a delicious mushroom soup house made brot was delicious. I had fishcake and I have to say. one of the best I ever had.
