The food was SWEET instead of SPICY..it's not an authentic indian restaurant..the food was more Bangladeshi instead of indian..the only indian thing about this restaurant is it's name!The naan and chapati are ready made from supermarkets!Never gonna order from here again.Wish I could give anything less than

Helmsley Spice Indian Restaurant Takeaway is open days a week, (including Bank holidays) noon and It is Licensed. The menu is extensive and the food excellent, everything is cooked to order from scratch and well presented. (I love their dinner plate sized naan breads Prices are extremely reasonable.The restaurant is situated on Bridge Street opposite the town square car park, set in one of Helmsley's attractive old buildings with a beamed interior, (if you are tall, mind your head Very clean and pleasantly arranged.Helmsley Spice is ideal for a family meal or a business meal, it has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.Although their Takeaway Menu states they take major credit cards, at the moment they are accepting cash only. There is an ATM across the square if you need one.I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very different menu, did include the usual suspects, was so hard to choose from such a wide selection. Everything we chose was absolutely delicious! Really tasty and well presented. Would definitely recommend. Great service and very popular.

My wife and I stayed in Helmsley for six nights in July and decided to eat at the Helmsley Spice one evening. We had only booked online a couple of hours before we wanted to go but this worked perfectly and we were welcomed by the very friendly and helpful owner. Even though it was busy, the service was good and we really enjoyed the food. We would definitely eat here again.

I was here a few times and always a good curry. all commented in our party on the quality of food. it misses only the five star as its money and although the staff was really helpful, they were overthrown as we follow slower than average service.
