La Vecchia Scuola - York

Lovely restaurant, with friendly staff and delicious food. A pianist was playing in the background and we sat in the atrium where it was light and buzzy. I can recommend the gluten free options, especially the ‘fruit di mare’. They also have Vegan options too.

Me and my partner went here lastnight we got sat next to the toilet of all places! And then I ordered the calzone Kiev and it was so so bland! It had so much bread and not enough filling. I didn’t rate it at all. Although the food wasn’t great at all the pina colada’s were the best!

We dined here last night after a wonderful time on the Northern Belle we wanted to end our day with a lovely dinner. We couldn’t have made a better choice. The food was truly delicious, the staff very attentive, the service was excellent and the Maitre’D made us feel so welcome and special. The atmosphere was very pleasant and lively and there was a quiet area for those who wanted a quieter atmosphere. I would most definitely give 5 for a truly wonderful dining experience

Busy Saturday night and front manager squeezed us in as my wife spokenitalian to him!!! But he is Romanian and excellent. Very good meal. Lightly fried fish calamari were great. Lovely roast chicken. Caesar salad had good filling but very bland!!! Typical English dressing. Basically mayonnaise. Fair price for nice venue. Thanks
