Contribuiți la feedbackI went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen with a large group of friends and arrived late. I asked the staff if our friends had arrived yet, as they had made a booking under their name. The staff seemed confused and left some of us waiting while they tried to find out. We ended up calling our friends, who were already seated upstairs! Despite the initial confusion, the service improved. Our drinks arrived quickly and the food was delicious. I ordered the butternut squash salad and was happy to see they were very generous with the feta cheese. Although GBK can be pricey, using discount vouchers from their website makes it more affordable. I recommend the food, but suggest visiting in smaller groups to avoid confusion.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen, known as GBK to those familiar with it, is a relatively new establishment in York, located on Lendal and opened about a year ago. The restaurant boasts a modern and chic interior with plenty of glass and stylish wood accents, making it clear that this is not your typical fast food joint. GBK offers a wide variety of high-quality burgers, with options including beef, chicken, vegetarian, and speciality choices like buffalo or wild boar burgers. After trying several options on the menu, I settled on the classic cheeseburger as a personal favorite. While the burgers are priced at under ten pounds, fries and sides are purchased separately. A meal with wine typically costs between £15-£20, but savings can be had with 2 for 1 vouchers currently available online. I would recommend GBK for a quick and delicious bite to eat before a night out, as the quality of the burgers is unmatched in York. However, it may not be the best spot for a leisurely meal with friends, as the service seems geared towards a faster dining experience. My friend and I found ourselves finishing our burgers and wine while others came and went, with the restaurant becoming empty and staff audibly cleaning up by 10pm.
I visited Gourmet Burger Kitchen with a large group of friends. I arrived late, and asked if our group of friends (who had made a booking under one of their names) had arrived yet. The staff seemed completely bewildered and left a couple of us waiting around while they attempted to find out. We gave up and phoned our friends, who were already sitting upstairs!! No idea why the staff didn't know that...After all that, things were a lot smoother! Our drinks were delivered quickly, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the butternut squash salad, and was pleased to see that they had been very generous with the feta cheese the pieces were massive. Normally I find GBK quite pricey, but with discount vouchers it's much better (they have vouchers on their website for you to print out, which is nice and easy). Definitely recommend for the food, things may be less confusing if you visit in smaller groups.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen (or GBK to those in the know is a relatively new addition to York’s eateries, having sprung up on Lendal about a year ago. As such it’s still very smart and shiny inside, with lots of glass and nice-looking wood poshing' up the interior enough to signify that this is NOT a fast food restaurant. No bright plastics used here! (I must confess to a nasty habit of forgetfully calling it ‘Gourmet Burger King’!)GBK specialises in top quality burgers and what a choice! There are about ten different choices of beef burger, four chicken, five vegetarian and five extra-special specials (buffalo or wild boar burger anyone? Everything is extremely tasty, but having worked my way through a fair bit of the menu I have settled on the rather “old school” favourite of the cheeseburger! Burgers are all under a tenner, but you do have to get fries and sides separately. An average meal with wine would be but you can reduce that enormously by laying your hands on a for voucher (available on the internet at the moment).Would definitely recommend GBK for a quick bite at the start of your evening, as the quality of burger will not be found elsewhere in York. However, it’s not a great venue for a leisurely meal with friends, as they don’t seem to expect you to want to take your time over things. My friend and I enjoyed burgers and bottle of wine while diners around us came and went; we ended up sitting in a deserted restaurant being hoovered around and cash very noisily being counted up … and it was only
I recently visited Gourmet Burger Kitchen with a large group of friends. Upon arrival, I was running late and asked the staff if our group had already arrived, as they had made a reservation under one of their names. The staff seemed confused and some of us had to wait while they tried to figure it out. Eventually, we called our friends who were already seated. Despite this initial confusion, the rest of our dining experience went smoothly. Our drinks were served promptly and the food was delicious. I ordered the Butternuss-Quash-Salat and was pleased with the generous amount of Feta cheese that was included, the pieces were huge. While Gourmet Burger Kitchen can be pricey, using discount vouchers from their website made it more affordable. I would recommend this restaurant for smaller groups to avoid any confusion when visiting.
