Chef Lu’s Chinese - York

This is hands down the best restaurant we have ever been to, and we've been to quite a few. The food is authentic and not like your typical takeout. The service was excellent, with meals being served hot and freshly cooked. The flavors were outstanding, especially the sweet and sour pork which was unlike any I've ever had before. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The chef truly deserves all the praise they can get.

My experience at this restaurant on June 2nd was disappointing. I was served the wrong meal for starters, and the main dishes came out without rice until we were almost finished eating. The service was subpar, and I will not be returning to this restaurant in this lifetime or the next.

I couldn't wait to write this review. This is simply the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Recommended by a Chinese friend of mine, what a gem. If I could have given it a higher score, I would have. The restaurant only accepts cash, but it's great value for money, and the wine is surprisingly affordable for a restaurant. What a gorgeous little restaurant. from the outside it looks more like a takeaway but it has hidden treasures inside. Seating is cafe style and it was packed, particularly with local Asian students obviously enjoying the food. We had two lovely dishes each which were very tasty and plenty of it. Please note that they only take cash.

Extremely slow service, not suitable for eating, could take away better.
