L'antica Pizzeria Da Michele - Yokohama

This was a really nice authentic pizza marinara, and was the first vegan pizza I’d had after being in Japan for a few weeks. So it was a very welcome change! The dough was nice and the tomatoes were flavourful. It’s a shame there’s wasn’t a vegan salad or any sides to go with it, but I’ll take it!

The menu seems to have expanded quite a lot since the opening of the restaurant, and yet the only vegan option is still the pizza marinara. We ordered one to go and were told it would take about 15 minutes, but we finally got our *cold* pizza 40 minutes later. It was still delicious, but I only wish we could have had the experience of a fresh out of the oven hot pizza.

The menu consists of two pizzas: margherita vegetarian), and marinara vegan). My marinara pizza was delicious, with tangy sauce and fresh herbs and garlic, lightly charred to perfection. The terrace has a beautiful view of the bay, too. Definitely not cheap though, at 1540 yen for the smaller size. If you’re a pizza lover like I am, it’s definitely worth a try.

Da Michele, the famous Neapolitan Pizzeria, has opened a restaurant in Yokohama! The pizza marinara and the zeppò line are vegan. The pizza is huge and delicious! The restaurant is at Hammerhead, they have both indoor and outdoor tables. From the outdoor tables you can enjoy the view of Yokohama’s famous landmarks.
