RED SHED SEAFOOD

Returned after Easter to buy more Moreton Bay Bug meat. We had bought some before Easter and thought we had cooked it wrong - one pack was rubbery while the other was beautiful. We mistakenly thought that the rubbery one was pre-cooked and that we had cooked it for a second time. When we quietly enquired if that was the case the owner, Tony, came out and had a look in the freezer. Straight away he told us that the bugs had been incorrectly vacuum sealed, hence the "rubberyness". He immediately replaced the pack without being prompted to do so. What impressed us was the absolute honesty he displayed and his willingness to set the situation right - of his own accord. As a person and a businessman with integrity we couldn't rate him high enough (and he's a Collingwood supporter too - it doesn't get much better!!)

On the Wednesday before Easter we stopped at Red Shed in Bundaberg just to have an idea of the seafood available. Kirstie was very kind and helpful and having taken my name, put aside some coral trout, on request, for the next day due to high demand. True to her word it was ready for us to pick up the following morning, along with other items purchased over the counter. I also observed excellent quality service being rendered to all other customers, especially the elderly. It wasn't the typical fish market atmosphere, it was definitely more pleasant .We had an Easter feast at a very reasonable price not surpassing the fact that it was fresh. Thank you, Kirstie and thank you Red Shed, Bundaberg. I've now been able to cross off 'fresh seafood in Queensland' on my bucket list.

I went to the Red Shed to buy my Christmas seafood and was disappointed with how it was displayed, I couldn't find what I wanted (Scallops and bugs), only found prawns in the display case. So I went elsewhere.

This is a lovely little seafood store that has very polite well informed staff, I have been there on a number of times and each time I have been impressed, the prawns are always fresh and the scollops are perfect.. Very close to town..

A great variety of fresh and frozen local seafood as well as other Australian seafood products such as oysters and Atlantic Salmon all well presented and well care for by knowledgeable and pleasant staff.
