Restaurante Puerta Calakmul - Xpujil

Not a lot of choices in the area (to say the least), so we ate several meals here. They were actually okay. I wouldn't drive across town to eat here, however.. Patrons seemed limited to those staying in the hotel. Everying was quite informal and pleasant. You could hang out in the dining room as long as you liked.

Waiters are courteous, food has good quality! You can ask for the omellet that has jamaica, or filete mignon for dinner, fish is also worth. Tha WC are always clean, and you can have your bottle of wine opened with a charge.

If you are staying at the hotel this is the only option you have. The food is ok but my feeling is that they miss a great opportunity to give outstanding food and make guests know the great culinary culture of the region. Personel is very attentive

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had breakfast and dinners here. The food was very good and there was a good choice for everyone in our group. For our day trip to Calakmul, we had them pack a picnic lunch for us and that was a good idea. Our last morning there was a family of howler monkeys right outside the restaurant.

Try this for authentic Mexican food. Chips and Black beans were all freshly made. Fajitas and beef chicken were great. Tortillas freshly made and food was all good.
