Who would have thought, jazz and Chinese. what an amazing location, reasonable prices, great music and scorpion bowls!
Longtime Favorite. I've been going to Chan's for many years and loved the music more and more than anything. You can say that a real fan is here at work, as every act is chosen for a specific, unique quality. The food is basically okay, better if you avoid the buffet and order the menu. Portions are quite generous and easy to share, and you will find all your classic faux-Asian classics represented with a Northern Rhode Island-Drill. We got the Pu-Pu for two places for $18 together with a pitcher of diet coke, as refills are not free, and were very satisfied with the plump, juicy roast pork and the fresh crispy egg rolls. Service is excellent as waiters never stop moving and are always on the ground looking for someone who needs something.
More than egg rolls. Amazing music in a dinner club atmosphere, the 150 seats. Duke Robillard to Leon Redbone after Pendragon (a Celtic band). I saw a French band playing at St. patrick's day in a Chinese restaurant. Quirky. The food is good if you take care of the order. Large five seasoned shrimps; the appetizers are really good when this is your taste. (i.e. terriyake, wing). The buffet offered during the music events has not addressed me, but it is convenient. I would order the menu safely. Do not expect a perfect service if you order the menu, but not all foods come together; therefore the buffet is promoted in this room. There is a complete service restaurant that borders the music room, so the kitchen is probably superfluous when the staff from the music room is ordered from the menu. I find it worth it; for I am there for the great music and drinks. So I'll wait for the food I really like. Surprisingly good desserts, such as Mango Sorbets, Cheesecake, Tirimisu, etc. Intime setting where you can meet the performers, buy cd's, get them autographed by the performers.
