Contribuiți la feedbackThe first time I visited this pub it was practically empty, but that probably had something to do with it being something like 10:00 am in the morning. However I did come back here at a more reasonable time (something like 2:00 pm, I think) to check it out (and it was a Saturday as well), and there was certainly a lot more people crammed into this place. Okay, it isn't one of my favourite pubs, but it's pretty cool nonetheless. They have a nice beer garden out the back, as well as a rooftop deck and tables out on the pavement (which is pretty wide by the way). There are some really decent beers on tap as well. However, it can get fairly crowded, especially on nice days as the entire back part of the pub is open. It is one that I would probably visit again.
Sometimes I wanna feel cool when I 'm drinking. (Sometimes not, but that 's another story). You 'll always feel cool at the Tilbury, 'cos it 's that sorta place. The crowd is sharply-dressed but laid back; this isn 't a pregame pub, or a uni bar, or a hipster den. It 's a perfect inner city oasis, a big, airy, well-lit castle packed with discerning people doing discerning things. I want to be one of these people. Can they smell a pretender? They haven 't yet. And I 'mma keep going until they do. The food is excellent gastro pub fare, and the big wooden deck area is worth the price of admission alone, and when you consider there isn 't a price of admission it 's really costing you more NOT to come here, isn 't it?
Very disappointed with food and service went to the upstairs restaurant on a Wednesday evening prior to St George open air and it took more than 45min to get served although the restaurant was almost empty... Tried the crispy prawn tacos and pork and did not like either. Not sure whether it was a bad night but I was definitely unimpressed and would not recommend the food. The top area is nice with a terrasse though probably better to sitck to drinks !
I was right in between a 3 and a 4 on this one, 3 for the food 4 for the atmosphere, but have to give it to the food because that's always most important in my eye. Came here for some drinks on Friday night around 7:45. Wasn't too crowded so we headed upstairs to have some drinks on the rooftop so my friend could smoke. Definitely a lot of people who had been drinking for a long period of time up there. We actually tried to get hustled for some cigarettes from a drunk biddy. Anyway, we hadn't had dinner so we ordered some food and sat down and waited. I think the food would have taken nearly 45 minutes, as they only had one guy cooking all of it. Definitely think they should have had more people up there. And the food was only okay in the end. Lettuce cups are a pass but the tacos had good flavour. There were limited shared plates options on the menu though so that would be my feedback to the establishment. Anyway we were there for a few hours and they closed up at 11pm. Seems really early for a Friday night. And they had a dj and I'm not really sure why... Anyway good place to chill but eat before (or try the food downstairs).
Errrrh, was so Meh!!! I ordered the Pork Belly, it was interesting and I've definitely had much better! You know I've always said it and it definitely rings true here, I don't care how much meals cost just as long as it's QUALITY!!!! When QUALITY is NOT there I have to complain! The Bill came to over $200.00 for two people, only one had an entree and we both shared a Bottle of Wine. This place is over rated and over priced!!!! I would've been happier with MacDonald's and the funny thing is I don't even eat that! Anyway make your own opinion....GOOD LUCK!
