The Ruck is very tasteful and delicate. The smoked sausage is delicious. Summer sausage is fresh. The Tamales are very good (and a good price). The prices on everything were very reasonable.
Hubby saw on Facebook and wanted to try. We decided today, Saturday. Luckily there is bar-B-Q on Saturday!! We had brisket, chicken and cattle ribs. Our pages were pinto beans, green beans and macaroni along with BBQ fastenings (bread, pickles, sauce etc.. When it comes to BBQ, I'm rarely impressed. We live in Texas and hubby is an excellent cook. HOWEVER... I was blown away how damn good her BBQ was. The cattle ribs were cooked for perfection. A plastic fork cuts through the rib like nothing. The smokey taste was amazing. The brisket was a perfect balance of moist, fat and meat. I mean seriously DELICIOUS!! Now with amazing main courses we expected the pages to subpar but wow!! The green beans were so juicy and I couldn't stop picking on my son's Mac n cheese (which I don't like, by the way, but that was 100% real taste. I can't have enough rave here. We hope to try everything. They serve daily and only during lunch hours. I 100% suggest you try it!!
We had heard from Tuttle 's and simply did not take the time to personally discover how beautiful it is. We should visit it earlier. Buffet was good. Every day is another menu. Then I bought freshly cut Steak Texas Twinkies and Pig Shots. It's delicious when I cooked it at home. You have to go. You have to find out for yourself. Don't wait as long as I do.
Stopped in from Corpus because my friend Jessie frequents often. Arrived at 12:30 and there were a ton of vehicles in the lot. Parking though was not a problem. There?s a shady parking lot across the street. Walked in and it?s a walk back in time. Small and cozy atmosphere but definitely not lacking in options and items to purchase. They have an entire canned area of salsa and veggies. They also offer a home town cooking cafeteria style buffet. The employees were all so very nice and polite. A young man eagerly helped me find some tri-tip that he grabbed from the back area. When I asked about picanha the young man behind the counter said they didn?t have it but he could cut it for me. He asked a gentleman who looked like an owner or manager and he just shrugged disinterested in my request. The younger gentleman was all too eager to assist me and took off to the back to create my custom request. I grabbed $200 worth of goodies. They have plenty in their freezers and refrigerators but not too many options behind the counter. I will say that their prices are comparable to big size supermarkets and their meat is Choice grade. I will return again despite the drive. Next time I?m trying the fried catfish. ?
That?s a beef rib! Portion sizes are huge and very flavorful. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were tasty.
