They have large segregated areas for private parties for up to 100 people. The food we ordered was excellent traditional Italian. We had great service and although they have a fair priced extensive wine list we took advantage of their corking fee and brought our own. The chef Franca is incredible. We were wowed from the cozze to the gnocchi and the incredible picante calabrese tomato salad and Positano pizza. Great night from ambiance to food to service.
We used a Groupon certificate and that was fine. Fair selection of choices from their "Groupon Menu". I asked for my Veal Medallions med rare. They were burnt on the exterior and cooked medium on the outside. No arugula as stated. Just a bunch of cooked vegetables with dry mushrooms. The bill came and low and behold a 25% tip had been added by the manager! How dare! We did not have desserts or coffees which came with our Groupon but did purchase wines and beers of which we knew we would be taxed on. Seriously 25%, is this their normal procedure. Thank you but with or without Groupon a $216.00 bill without alcohol is definitely not worth our return!
Great food and service. The pricing seemed good to me but I did not pay the bill (just going from what I saw on the menu.
We just went here for the first time as a guest of our friend who chose Rosa's to celebrate their 50th birthday. We had live piano music throughout our dinner. This unique restaurant is set up to hold multiple parties, yet you wouldn't know it. The venue is warm and quaint. We had a five course meal and from the bread, to the anti pasto, I knew we were in for a great evening of quisine. The anti pasto was just the relight size with grilled veggies, cheese, meat and a medley of seafood. Two types of pasta were served as well. The breaded chicken as well as veal was the hit of the night. Table wine was well paired and the servers made sure you weren't left wanting. Though a hike from downtown Toronto, it is well worth it.
We have been to Rosa's on 2 occasions and the reason we returned was because the food was very good (for a set menu) and the atmosphere relaxing. The live piano music adds a lounge feel to the evening and is something we enjoy. On our first visit, the waiter was brusque and indifferent. Basically inattentive. When you needed something he was non-responsive, non-reactive and, well, just not doing an adequate job of serving. So the flow of the evening was broken and so uneven as to affect one's overall enjoyment. His automatic inclusion of the 15% gratuity was unwarranted and grated on me. However, at our recent visit, the waiter was, in comparison, a joy. Engaging, charming, helpful and friendly. His attitude and performance made all the difference to our enjoyment level. The meal was fine. It would be a poor Italian restaurant if their fare was mediocre. All the meals were prepared as requested. All were hot and tasty. Appetizer, pasta, entree, dessert. Each course left us feeling satisfied and content. Even though we both said we couldn't eat any more after the pasta dish, we forced ourselves to do so! Well, I did. My girlfriend took her entrée home, but she did not hesitate to finish her crème brûlée and wanted seconds! She didn't but enjoyed how light the caramel was.All in all, a very pleasant evening out with my girlfriend and because of that I would recommend you try Rosa's. Hopefully, your server will be on his or her game.
