Niecy's Mac Cheese - Woodbridge

On Saturday, October 16, 2021, around 5:30 PM, I was craving some soul food. I ordered turkey wings with yams and mac and cheese. However, I received turkey wings with yams and collard greens, along with a small container of mac and cheese that was only a bite-sized portion. Despite the mix-up, the turkey wings, yams, and collard greens were very tasty. The small serving of mac and cheese was also quite good.

I ordered the oxtails with mac and cheese and collard greens, and it was absolutely delicious! The greens had that flavor that really stands out (a bit indulgent, but so good). Overall, a fantastic meal!

I ordered through a delivery app at 6:38 PM, and shortly after, I received a call from the restaurant informing me that one of my items was unavailable. I was perfectly fine with that since it was just a side item, and I directed them to simply remove it from my order without needing a replacement. The person on the phone confirmed they would do that. While I was waiting, I checked the app again around 7:20 PM, and it indicated that the restaurant was "wrapping up" and that the delivery driver was waiting for my order to be picked up. However, when I checked again at 7:38 PM, I found out that my order had been cancelled. I assume the restaurant closed at 7:30 PM, but what upset me was that I wasn’t informed or given any explanation for the cancellation. After waiting an hour, I had to start my dinner plans all over again. I’m giving this experience 2 stars because I wasn't charged, but I believe a little courtesy goes a long way.

First time ordering from Niecy's and I have to say that the food was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. We had the smothered turkey wings these were a little dry but very flavourful. We also had the meatloaf which was moist and tender. The gravy was well made no floury aftertaste or overwhelming greasy on your tongue. The sides were collards which were very good, string beans which had a lot of flavour however not prepped properly some had the stems attached and the string wasn't pulled. Mac cheese was great, candied yams also very good. I was disappointed as they didn't have any potato salad but hopefully next time. I recommend if you like this type of food to try this establishment. Hopefully you won't be disappointed either!!

I ordered the oxtail platter thinking it would come with rice and I received this with a note attached.I don’t have much to say about this place but I just know I won’t be ordering from here ever again!
