Our room was right around the corner from the pool, which was crazy convenient with kids in tow. Their pool area was really lovely; big open windows for natural light, pool towels, a water bottle fountain, and a sitting area off to the side that ended up being perfect for me to work while our kids played in the pool. The WiFi was pretty rough though. I would have great wifi for a small stretch, followed by almost frozen internet speed for several minutes. I stuck it out though and didn't buy the extra wifi. The room smelled pretty moldy, which we deduced was because there was no ventilation fan in the bathroom to mitigate the humidity of showers, but it was otherwise clean. I didn't notice any active mold. The room came with a coffee maker and fridge; I enjoyed that they were set aside in their own nook out of sight of the rest of the room. We made that area storage for our snacks and cooler. No microwave though, which is always a bit of an inconvenience especially since breakfast isn't included. The hotel manager actually told us at check-in that bfast *was* included but we were told differently when we went down the next morning. The tv allowed us to sign into our personal Netflix account, which was really nice. Overall we felt like this was a fine value, safe, and nice amenities for this leg of our family road trip.
My family and I stayed here for a few days while visiting family in Chicago. The free shuttle from the airport was convenient and the driver was friendly and safe. Our room was very clean and comfortable- nice bed, good water pressure, enough room in the mini fridge for my toddler's milk and snacks and I loved that they're using refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bath rather than minis. My husband ended up having to work and found the desk area comfortable and had no problems with the WiFi. We used the pool a few times for short swims and it was fun but definitely pretty cold. We didn't try the breakfast or the coffee shop, so I can't comment on that. The only thing I'd mention besides how cold the pool was was that one of the nights we stayed we got back late and the only place we found to park our car was in front of the hotel along the side of the grass, so not a real spot at all. Overall we enjoyed the hotel very much and would absolutely stay here again.
I'm doing a staycation here and just wanted someplace quiet to relax. This is a very good no-frills hotel. The staff have been wonderful to me, my floor is quiet. I am enjoying the serenity. Once in a while you may hear a plane, but nothing too obnoxious. The furniture is a bit dated, but for the price quiet and great custom service, and a free shuttle from O'Hara; I think it's a great choice; especially if you don't have a car, and your funds are tight. I find rideshare or Cab helpful, if you want to get around. The closest big Mall is about 5 miles away and is Woodfield Mall. They do have a restaurant here but just looking at the prices it's a bit pricey for me so, I did a Uber eats and I was fine. It's nice to leave the hustle and bustle of Chicago for a little while for someplace more serene, like the Cortland by Marriott,.
My second review ever. I'm on a roll. This isn't the place. I'm here for a three night stay and if i wasn't leaving early my last morning, I'd make it a one night stay. Biggest issue: they limit how cool they allow the room to get. That may not sound like a big deal but if you need it cool to sleep, it's an issue. I've never stayed at a hotel with a limitation like this. I'm also not sure its actually hitting the temp limitation, it feels warmer than it says. When it kicks off, it wont come back on till the temp rises significantly and you can't get it to come back on regardless of what you do. You just have to wait till its internal setting decides its warm enough to activate again. This woke me up several times throughout the night. It also goes off while you are out so when you come back it's not only warm (75 today upon return) in the room but now you have to wait till the room cools down again AND it's so loud that you compete with it and anything else you may want to do (tv, phone, etc). Def on the louder side of hotel AC's. This place is also more booked (full) so you won't get the pick of rooms...want courtyard side or outside? You may not get what you're looking for unless you're lucky. The attendant last night actually told me they are overbooked for the second night that i'm here. That also means the probability of more noise or disruptions is increased. Finally, this makes parking much more challenging. The lot is completely full but not just with guests; apparently they let airport people park here and fly. So they occupy a large number of spots, filling up the lot. is it the worst? Nope. The attendant was nice. Place is relatively clean. But if you need to park, want quiet, want at least some say in the room you have, or want a room that's cool and doesn't have a blaring AC unit...you may want to look elsewhere. All these things added up (and the singular AC issue would have been enough) that this will be the last stay here.
This hotel is close to O'Hare airport. Lots of parking. Check In was ok. The lady at the counter was very nice but their system did not work very well. The room is clean enough but the beds were grossly under described. The two beds in the bedroom were at most a full size bed and not comfortable for two adults to share. The described sofa bed couch in the other room was at most a child size mattress and the two children in our party had to sleep toe to head to even fit on the mattress and they were ages 4 and 10. The lady in charge of the Starbucks counter in the morning was very rude and just told us we're closed without offering any options. It was our error to not know (but we did not get in until very late the night before) it closed at 10:00 a.m. however the woman from the receptionist came over and gave us coffee and checked us out. My 4 year old granddaughter asked for a banana and the Starbucks woman snapped at her that she couldn't have it. However the lady at the reception counter told me she could let her have a banana. Not very good customer service at that counter however the reception counter was on the other hand very helpful. We enjoyed the pool. We were there for two nights and three nights with three rooms being rented by our party. The hotel was quiet.
