We have eaten at the Shaughnessy Restaurant next to VanDusen Gardens multiple times in the past.
The food and service at this restaurant are fantastic. I always have a great time when I dine here. The views from the window are amazing, allowing you to see the beautiful garden.
The waitress was lovely , cabbage salad had so much salt, it was as if it were prepped to make sauerkraut . Could not taste the cabbage from the salt. Could not eat it. Upon paying I was asked if I enjoyed the meal...since you...More
My wife suggested we eat here for lunch one day, and I didn't even know it existed. I'm not a big fan of Crown St Mall, and this felt like an oasis in the middle of tasteless hustle and bustle. You enter off Crown St Mall, walk up a broad tiled staircase, turn right, and a whole new world of tasteful but simple decor welcomes you. It was a hot day and they hadn't turned the A/C on, but did after we commented on how hot it was. The coffee was good, the meals were wonderful. My wife had the Lebanese tasting platter which I 'sampled', and I had the big breakfast, which I regretted only because of how good the platter was. However the big breakfast was $15 with a coffee - value I couldn't resist! I'm really keen to go back and try some of the other dishes they have - it's all really good value and pretty special for what I thought was going to be an average cafe - this is more of a restaurant with cafe prices. The staff were friendly and helpful. Loved it. Will be back.
