Contribuiți la feedbackMy personal experience: I met up with a friend yesterday for lunch at The Church Brewing Co. We chose this spot among several options in the charming town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, because of its gluten-free menu and unique appetizer offerings. Both my friend and I have dietary restrictions; I follow a specific diet, and she is gluten-free. We were also looking for a distinctive dining experience, as we were traveling from different parts of Nova Scotia to enjoy a leisurely lunch together. This was my friend's first visit, making it a new experience for her. Overall, we had a lovely time at The Church Brewing Co. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, assisting us with our inquiries and being attentive to our needs. Although we felt a bit rushed at first, once we explained that we hadn't seen each other in a long time, we were able to relax and enjoy our tea after the meal. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but it became busier during the lunch hour. There was no wait for a table, and several were available, so we didn't feel pressured to eat quickly. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as it is limited to street parking out front, so be prepared to walk and navigate some stairs. I was lucky that the sole handicapped space was available, but my friend had a longer walk. The Church Brewing Co. is situated on a hill, which adds to the charming atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, with various interesting elements to admire—it's hard to resist taking a few photos! The large Gothic chandelier is particularly impressive. We didn't order alcohol, but the restaurant offers an extensive craft beer menu. The food presentation was creatively done and visually appealing. However, I found the portion sizes small in relation to the cost. That said, the meal was satisfying, and we felt full by the end. Given my dietary restrictions, I didn't mind the portion size at all, and there was no food waste. The deconstructed apple pie dessert was a brilliant and well-executed creation—kudos to the chef! YUM!
Staff are professional and knowledgeable. I had the Porter's Burger with Bacon. Prices are on point. With live music or just a quick bite. This spot is A+ must try.
Waitress was really friendly and helpful but the food was not at all what it’s talked up to be. We got the fried broccoli for the appetizer, it came with a very small amount of sauce which was only enough for 1/4 of the broccoli if that. Ordered a burger, a big patty, slice of cheese, 3 fried onions, and very very undercooked bacon. Came with fries but they were cold. Salad was pretty good. Good choice of dessert, good choice of drinks.
Yesterday, I visited Church Brewing, and the entire experience was simply “top notch.” From the atmosphere and decor to the staff, food, beer, clean restrooms, and enjoyable music, everything contributed to an unforgettable time. I even had the pleasure of chatting with the owners. I will definitely be returning, and I highly recommend this place. Wishing them continued success! Mike
What a fantastic experience! We visited on Saturday night for dinner, and everything was superb. A special mention goes to our server, Cassidy—she was incredible! Not only did she assist us in choosing our meals, but her service was also outstanding—very attentive, friendly, and genuine. She had quick answers to all of our questions, whether about the food, drinks, or even the history of the building. Truly amazing! Our group was thoroughly impressed. Every dish we tried was fresh, hot, and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!
