Contribuiți la feedbackAfter finding this restaurant closed during previous visits, we were excited to finally receive a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. Despite being busy, we were quickly seated and given an explanation of the different options for afternoon tea. The experience felt like a step back in time, in a very positive way. We opted for the £9.95 per person 'sandwich and cake' menu, a price that would only get you a small slice of cake in many other places. We were served on elegant china crockery with individual teapots (we had ordered different types of tea) and a tiered stand filled with sandwiches, a large scone with plenty of cream and jam, and a huge slice of Victoria sponge. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and likely homemade. Each teapot held enough tea for at least three cups. The only downside was that they closed early, around four o'clock, and stopped serving food well before then. Despite this, Port Sunlight is definitely worth a visit, and Tudor Rose makes the journey even more worthwhile.
The older lady at this restaurant had a rude attitude with no courtesy or manners. We did not receive a cozy for our teapot, but noticed that other customers she knew did. The food was very good and the younger lady and gentleman serving us were pleasant. They only accept cash or bank transfer, which was inconvenient.
While exploring Port Sunlight on foot, we stumbled upon Tudor Rose and decided to try it instead of the cafe at Lady Lever. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the quality of our coffees. The filter coffee, served in a cafetière, was weak and watery. The decaf coffee had an unpleasant aftertaste. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the server, she appeared unconcerned and still charged us full price. Additionally, we were surprised to find out that the tea room does not offer Earl Grey tea. While the interior was pleasant and the cakes looked decent, we were disappointed to learn that they only accept cash payments. Overall, despite the charm of Port Sunlight, we do not plan on returning to Tudor Rose tearoom.
It's a very nice little rea room. We had lunch and shared our table because it was busy. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was nicely prepared. They don't take cards though but there is a Nasty Wetmonster bank just up the road
Big queue at another place and another closed so we tried here. Superb. Right opposite Port Sunlight Railway Station. Sat outside and it was quiet but inside really lovely gret decoration. The menu had plenty on for most people. The toastie we had was brilliant. Full of taste really good taste. Ham brie and something? was ace. Lovely friendly staff. I could easily be a regular.
