Costa Coffee - WIRRAL

Extremely slow service. Member of staff who took my order was very abrupt and interrupted me whist I was trying to order. I think she thought because she was smiling and putting on a bright sing song voice that her rudeness was justified. Hot chocolate was weak compared to every other Costa I’ve been to. Won’t go back!

Great service good coffee. Very relaxed whilst I was catching up on my paperwork. Clean trade area and tables cleaned as soon as people left. Toilets were clean and tidy too.

I may have a coffee problem but i did go to Costa everyday for a drink and chill, so i am very used to this store. The staff team have always been brilliant, Linda, James Jamie et al are all brilliant. Linda being the star of the store!!!!! It is so sad to see that since the new manager started service has collapsed, the wait for service is now beyond annoying, I am not the only person who now turns away and leaves when we see the manager on the counter, usual give away is the queue out the door. I manage services and so understand there are 2 types of managers, those that focus on customers and ensure efficient service and those who relish a long queue as it makes them feel busy, in reality you are not busier as many customers just leave so branch is loosing money. the new manager is clearly type 2 the opposite to myself. i also find the new manager passive aggressive and agree with other comments about her treatment of staff. when this manager is on shift the tables are left uncleared, the queues and waits are beyond a joke, no chance of a quick coffee break. Having run a coffee house many years ago, I understand rush times, but this week was the final straw, I entered a pretty empty shop, 3 other customers sat down already with drinks, I still had to wait more than 10 mins for a coffee. I feel so sorry for the troops who have been brilliant on every visit and now are so apologetic as they know the current situation is putting people off visiting. unless the new manager drastically ups her work rate and her attitude then I am sorry the place will be empty. It is such a shame as Linda, James and Jamie do not deserve it, they work so hard and really make everyone feel so welcome. such a sad situation as has always been 5 stars until last few months.

I went into today for a chilled lunchtime break and was met with something I have never witnessed elsewhere. The bully like behaviour towards staff and customers really shocked me. I witnessed a young blonde girl being paraded to run round and complete jobs under the demand of what seems an incappable manager. She seems to not want to have anything to do with hands on work and represents herself very poorly. The idea of a manager should be to take control, to co-operate as a team and treat others (customers and staff) with respect. I will not be returning anytime soon due to the events that I witnessed this lunchtime. Extremely poor

Went in for a coffee today and witnessed the manager speaking to the staff in an unacceptable way. I go here regularly and it really has gone downhill under this new manager!!
