Best soul food ever. We had fried chicken and it was perfect. Crunchy in the outside and tender on the inside and still warm. The rice and peas were sooo tasty. The collards were a perfect balance of flavor and spiciness. The yams were sweet, but not candy. The propriator was so attentive and kind. We also loved the background music: the best of Motown from the good old days. Definitely a destination.

Waited an hour and 45 minutes for a to go order. The owner added a 20% gratuity which I didn 't realize until I checked my receipt the following day. While the three of us waited we each had a couple drinks. Captain Morgan $10, the Pepsi it was poured into, another $1. My 'fried chicken dinner ' consisted of three sides and 5) buffalo wings, for which I was charged $30. Dinner for 4), after the additional $40 tip was $275 $65 for 6 drinks). All of this after we greeted customers and even delivered drinks to another customers table because the owner was working alone in the back. I 'm all for supporting small business but this was a rip off to say the least......

Amazing food!! Large portions!! The ribs were fall off the bone delicious and wings crunchy and cooked to perfection! The baked ziti, Mac n ' cheese and fried fish oh SOOO good! Warm corn bread the best! D.O.N. Soul Food a gem! At the former Peppers in Winthrop....

The food and atmosphere was awesome.. The service was fantastic as well.. We will be back......
