Hotel Restaurant Bar Kino - Winterthur

The staff is nice and the place is clean, the prices are normal for the city and the cinema rooms are very cozy with a capacity of about 50 people I suspect.

We went to Loge for dinner and cinema on a Friday night. We had been there before dinner and the convenience of a bar, cinema and restaurant in one place encouraged us to return. The ground floor of the log is a popular and mostly lively bar. The decor is modern to sit with areas and stand either at the bar or around the edge of the room. There is (by observation) a good selection of drinks choices and the service is timely if its not overcrowded. The restaurant is upstairs and surrounds the bar area on a mezzanine floor. Most tables are available for 2 persons with the odd larger table for 4. The distance of the table is a little cramped for a private romantic dinner, but this is quite small due to the overall size of the restaurant area. The other factor is the proximity of the bar below, the mood lighting of the restaurant strikes a little with the colored lighting of the bar, as well as the large plasma TV on the back wall of the bar shows live sports, as clearly visible to those on the ground floor, as it is for the rich upper floors that spoil the ambiance very easily. The menu is well served seasonal dishes and regularly. There is also a good vegetarian choice if needed and flexibility for other nutritional requirements. The food is well presented and the service is quick and friendly. I enjoyed a pumpkin, ginger and soup, followed by a calf ragout. Both were delicious, well seasoned and well proportioned, but the anger lacked the amount of meat I would expect for the price. The wine list offers a good choice, wine on the glass is also available with selected wines. The cinema is small and light boutique, but the price is the same as larger commercial cinemas. The screens are somewhat smaller that the larger cinemas, but they show the modern releases and the timings are ready to dinner at a reasonable time before the movie. Do not forget the commercial/ice cream break halfway through the film where the film stops and lights come for 15 minutes. If you find this as falsified and frustrating as I can this your decision about where you watch your movie. A nice evening to start the weekend, a little expensive, but you pay for the quirky mix of all 3 venues in one place and in Switzerland.

Atmosphere and service are great! The whole building reminds of those you can see in Barcelona a bit twisted in shape. They organize thematic film evening (i.e. Spaghetti Western cycle, Polish name cycle) very popular amount of locals. In addition, you can grab a beer and see a little more electricity.

I had a great meal and cocktails at Loge with my partner on a Saturday evening in October 2014, followed by a fabulous movie in her cozy cinema. On Tuesday I was back for more, this time with my mother. We bought the movies and waited in the theater until a man announced, there were technical problems and they couldn't show the film. Good enough. We went back to the reception to get our refund. I got two vouchers for the tickets I returned, and when I said I wanted the money back because I was uncertain when I was able to return the unfriendly lady at the desk said no, we don't give back any money. I really had to insist and explain that the problem was her, not mine. After an unpleasant exchange, she slammed the money on the counter. I was disappointed with her customer service. Not only if they returned the money as soon as I asked, a free drink or a free movie voucher to compensate us for the inconvenience would have been a good customer service.

Spätabends, nach dem Besuch eines Flamenco-Events im Gwölb, nahmen wir zu siebt im Restaurant Loge am oberen Graben Platz. Genau genommen nahmen wir zwei Tischchen und sieben Stühle der Aussenbestuhlung in Beschlag.Der Service war sehr zuvorkommend, wenn auch nicht der schnellste. Dies lag aber an der Anzahl der Gäste und nicht am Kellner.Gerne werde ich - mit all meinen Freunden - wieder in die Loge einkehren.
