Contribuiți la feedbackI visited Bovine to celebrate a birthday, and while the experience had its highlights, there were some disappointments. We ordered two medium-rare steaks, but they arrived very rare, and one steak that was supposed to be rare came out medium at best. They did make an effort to adjust the overcooked steak. On a positive note, the appetizers, especially the bacon and burrata, were excellent, as were the salads. However, the service was adequate but quite slow and disengaged, which is not what you expect when paying over $70 for steaks. It might have just been an off night, as I've had better experiences there in the past.
Aside from our server Abe, who made a genuine effort to address the long waits from both the bar and kitchen, our experience was quite disappointing. Despite the bar being empty and the restaurant not being very crowded when we arrived, our drinks took an unusually long time to arrive, and the soda was flat. It took a while to get our order placed, and the food took an hour to arrive. When it did come, my son's steak had to be sent back twice: it was first served medium rare, then medium, and finally, after we had all finished eating, it was finally cooked to medium well. The rest of the food was just mediocre at best and definitely not worth the prices charged. We felt the need to ask for the manager after the second attempt to get my son's steak right. He adjusted our bill and didn't charge for the steak, but he seemed indifferent and a bit frustrated himself. The restaurant clearly needs food runners and busboys, and using trays to serve drinks and food would greatly improve the situation in the absence of runners. We were excited to visit based on strong recommendations for a special dinner with our son, who is a steak enthusiast.
The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy. However, I was expecting more attentive service. I had to go to the bar myself to get water, which is unexpected for a $200 meal. While I understand that service can vary from place to place, I think it's fair to expect a bit more attentiveness.
My pet pev when dining out with my husband is to be welcomed into the establishment with the phrase Hi Guys . BoVive is a HIGH end steakhouse and your hostess should refrain from using the word Guys. Frank our server welcomed us with hi Folks when we were seated. My rack if lamb was delicious but very pricey. My husband had bone in rib eye that he brought half home. The dressing on the wedge salad was yummy. We had gift cards that we used. Won 't be going again as the whole menu was very over priced.
Restaurant was empty. Food not prepared as ordered. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Drinks were very good. Overpriced.
