I ordered the special, which featured a pita filled with lentils, rice, beets, and sweet pickles—light and flavorful. I also added a side of smooth, lemony hummus accompanied by warm pita and crunchy carrot chips. It was a fantastic dining experience!
Mooney's is a charming downtown eatery where you can't help but feel like you could easily make friends with the owners and staff. They truly embody hospitality. The food is outstanding, featuring fresh and clean ingredients. The flavors are distinctive, with bold spices that really stand out. I recommend ordering a platter to sample a bit of everything. You'll also appreciate the cozy atmosphere and the straightforward wine selection.
I dined here for the first time on a Friday night and ordered the Tawook platter and the Kafta platter. Both the grilled chicken and the beef/lamb patties were excellent, and they paired nicely with the basmati rice that accompanied them. Each platter came with a generous portion of salad (fattoosh), hummus, and pita bread. We opted for tabouli as an appetizer, which was tasty, but next time we'll choose something different since the fettoosh served with the platters provided plenty of greens. While the meat servings are not huge, we left feeling satisfied, especially given the price. If you have a big appetite, I suggest opting for a heartier appetizer than the tabouli; we plan to try the lentil soup or moussaka next time. Overall, the flavors were delightful, and the café has a cozy atmosphere.
Great food and friendly service!. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. The food was traditional Lebanese food with American twist. We ordered the sampler platter with baba ghanoush, fattoush, tabouli, and falafel. The baba ghanoush and falafel were amazing. For dinner, our table ordered the shawarma over hummus, tawook sidon, and the kafta burger. The shawarma was tender and well seasoned. The tawook sidon was a seasoned chicken with an excellent couscous. But the kafta burger stole the show. the burger was absolutely amazing and tender. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for great Mediterranean food!
Delicious! Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. I had a sampler platter with tobuli, falafel, fried cauliflower and cous cous (had raisins and feta which paired perfectly! and it was better than a number of Mediterranean restaurants I've visited.
