The Rec Room - Winnipeg

Always a great experience going to Rec Room with my family. My 6 year old son loves winning tickets so he can exchange for toys at the shop. My husband loves watching his points go up at every visit as he is saving it to get the darthvader fossil watch (it will probably take years but he is determined). We are there almost every month, its a great bonding time for my family. We used to eat at the restaurant before hitting the arcade, but the food we tried were sub-par. The poutine, and burger did not have that wow factor, although, I enjoyed the fish tacos!! Will definitely be back again and again!

Paid for the Costco prepaid card which came with $25 worth of game credits and nacho coupon. Nachos were not worth $19. Only had chives and cheese on it. Thankfully we didn’t pay full because of the Costco deal. Went on a Friday so we got the the cocktail tower (peach don’t kill my vibe). It tasted funky and I think the tonic water was flat. We all bit our tongues and drank a cup each. We were willing to throw out the rest if the waitress didn’t let us add lemonade (wish thankfully she did). Games were fun though!

The manager was completely incompetent. We came as a kids sports group and he was unable to cope. No one answered the phone to take a reservation despite our efforts. The manager told us to listen instead of listening as we expressed our concerns. Upon telling him he was a disgrace we were asked to leave. He cost his servers tips and the company $100 's. He was sexist to the women in our group who he talked over. No one was drinking, no one was swearing. The manager was yelling at us and blaming us instead of providing solutions. To Rec Room management, Zack McGillvary is an embarrassment and will prevent future visits. We have been to two other, busier rec rooms without issue and have recommended them to others. Save your money and avoid!! Google won 't let me give this less than one star.

The place is really great. But I think the staff should be more trained in dealing with customers. The manager there Matt was rude to me without any reason. The lady that worked there refused drinks to my girlfriend without any reasons she had id on her. She was saying to her you are not buying drinks for yourself but for him does that make any sense how you can stop 18+ adult from buying the drinks.

Great place to go with the kids. Location: not bad at all. Easy enough to find. Nearby other local shopping. Parking: plenty and free! Facility: huge! Lots of room inside. Staff: the ones I've encountered have been great. The store service is a little slow due to congestion. Usually not enough people working in it to cover the amount of people waiting to be served. Price: it's an arcade, kid focused, it's expensive, you're going to be into it for some money. I've never tried the food here, but the entertainment is decent. Lots of games too select from, ranging from video arcade to interactive games like ball toss, basketball Freddie stations, air hockey and more. There's also a bowling alley, axe throwing and some other more involved activities. Youll need to check it out to appreciate it all. Overall I enjoy the place. Both my kids like going here from time to time.
