Stella's Café And Bakery - Winnipeg

During my visit, I tried the jambalaya, and I completely agree with Kristie W.'s comment that it’s her favorite dish—it's mine as well! If you're not a fan of rice, the chorizo hash is another fantastic option. A friend from Toronto ordered that and was really impressed with the food; he's a hearty eater, and it was just the right amount for him. The service was excellent, and our servers engaged in friendly conversation with my friend from Toronto, asking about his experience in Winnipeg and whether he'll make a return visit (and the answer is yes, by the way). I’ll definitely come back the next time I have a friend visiting—or even just for a meal with local friends.

During our visit to town, this restaurant has become our favorite spot for meals! As someone who struggles with decision-making but enjoys having options, I really appreciate the variety on Stella's menu, which features everything from vegan dishes to sandwiches, hot bowls, all-day breakfast, and desserts! My personal favorite is the Jambalaya, which comes with an amazing herbed scone that reminds me of focaccia. This dish is bursting with flavors from tomatoes, chorizo, chicken, shrimp, and spices. The smoked salmon sandwich was decent, but the croissant it was served on felt a bit flat and thin. The ratatouille is tasty if you're a vegetable fan. I'm excited to try something from their smoothies and dessert menu soon!

There was a slight hiccup when they had to remake our pancake batter, which delayed our order by a mere four minutes. Honestly, it was just four minutes! It was so thoughtful of her to not only apologize for the delay but also to give us a complimentary jar of Stella's homemade berry jam. I highly recommend visiting this spot when you're in Winnipeg!

We came for brunch on a Sunday morning, and had a brief, 10-minute wait before being seated. We both ordered different vegan breakfasts (the Vegan Mexican and the Grand Veggie) and absolutely loved both. The tofu was simply amazing. Bottomless coffee and very friendly and attentive service rounded this play out as a peak brunch experience. Awesome place.
