Nicolino's - Winnipeg

Ordered in for my bday after memories from years ago of the chilli cream shrimp pasta. The salad with feta was simple but quite good. No breadsticks which would be nice as a throw in (especially give the price). The pasta wasn’t as good as...I remembered..shrimp not the greatest quality and the sauce good, but not excellent. Big portion though and all in all a good meal. Won’t be craving to go back again though as there are better options out there.

1) Total number of guests 2 pax 2) Time 11:45 am (Lunch) 3) Guest Welcome Average the server didn't have a smile or happy attitude, she didn't introduce herself upon our arrival and gave only one menu to share! Upon request she got another menu...and mentioned that due to Covid 19 they are not reusing the menus (printed menus were filled in the plastic file pockets. In my opinion it could have been easily reused if wiped down with sanitizer and reused to save paper and plastic use). 4) Meals ordered a) Yellow fin Tuna Cheese salad and b) Spaghetti Alfredo with chicken breast. a) The salad had just the right amount of oil and vinegar in it. It didn't taste over the top with the vinegar. Adding a bit of black pepper enhances the taste of the tomatoes in the salad(you can request the server to bring you some black pepper). Tuna tasted very good ! b) The Alfredo sauce lacked flavor and the spaghetti got pretty dry after a few morsel. Requested the server to get some extra Alfredo. It took almost 10 12 mins mins for the Alfredo sauce to be made and the spaghetti turned more dry and cold in the meanwhile. The extra Alfredo sauce served tasted bitter (excess parmesan cheese was added to the sauce). This was disappointing! The chicken was an add on and was grilled right. It was soft and juicy! The best part of the visit was the complimentary bread served at the beginning of the meal. It was soft and warm. The butter immediately melted and intensified the flavor of the bread. 5) Restaurant Ambiance Overall very clean and peaceful. Lunch was not very busy. Since it was a business meeting we had a good environment to discuss matters. 6) Overall Average experience as compared to other visits.

Went for lunch with a group of golf buddies and everyone enjoyed their meal. The homemade soup, butternut squash, was excellent. I had the smoked salmon on a delicious bun. One had soup and mini pizza which she said was excellent. I have been there...for lunch before and have always been happy. Our server, Joanne V, was very attentive and pleasant.

Went for a family Christmas lunch. Was very hesitant to order the steak sandwich as I have not had a good one in ages. To my surprise it was the best one I ever had. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, topped with delicious mushrooms...and had a wonderful side salad. Everyone had a perfect meal.

Great pasta, fabulous service. I had cannelloni and my wife had both excellent gnocchi. feta salat was a winner. the hire is located in a strip shopping center, which is not very romantic on a parking lot. Service food quality and value for...the view.
