Mooshiro Japanese Cuisine - Winnipeg

Went there last week and waited a week to review to ensure I was being fair. The food was good. As far as price, I'm not sure we made the most of the "all you can eat" end of things, but that's not the point.On to the decor. No, you don't go to a sushi restaurant for decor, but you don't really expect to see the only clean spot of carpet where you can tell what the original colour was by looking around the base of the tables. It is absolutely filthy, and could probably never be properly cleaned. Then you start to ask yourself... whose cloths are those on the clothing rack behind the till? Do you sleep here? The place was quiet during our visit, and the "smell" was obvious. Thank goodness the wasabi helped that go away.I don't think we'll be back as there are other places where they have cleaned in the past decade. If the front looks like this, I'd hate to see what the back of the house looks like.

Oopps, we didn't drink here but we certainly ate, and were very merry.Seared salmon. This is my 1 of 3 reviews on seared salmon in Canada. Buffet dinner, about $25 with tax. Not great, but it's good value for the price. Really ok. And for those who do well in buffets, this is an excellent spot for sashimi and sushi. This is the only buffet that I felt I had my money's worth. As a seal incarnate, I could have had at least a dozen more seared salmon and a lot more sashimi. Sadly, social decorum suppressed my true capacity for fish. Go alone or with devout pescetarians.

The only other all you can eat sushi I've had in winnipeg was Miso, which I found lacking. This is slightly more expensive, but I think the rolls are worth it. Not overly full of rice.

We've been coming here for years, and last night was definitely the best meal I have ever had here. Our plate was so beautifully presented (carrot origami!!!!) that I didn't even want to disturb the dish! Everything, including the raw salmon, tasted fresh and, well, yummy! I will definitely be back. Good luck to the new owners of the restaurant (you guys are clearly off to a great start!) Will be back very soon!

Just went by a few weeks ago for the first time in years for lunch. I was drawn in by the new lower pricing, but was disappointed when I got there to see it was tiered. So basically, if you wnat the true *AYCE* of everything on the menu, then the price is actually higher than I remember it originally (now mind you, I have been out of the country for quite a few years, so I don't know how long this pricing has been in effect)Food wise, it is good. Not great, not astounding... but it si good and has never disappointed me. If I am in the area and looking for a safe choice that I know won't disappoint me, then it's a great choice.
