Cousins Grocery & Deli - Winnipeg

This deli is fantastic! They serve high quality meats, tasty breads, and amazing pickles. The chicken and potato kinish is the best I've had in years - you have to try it. The staff is friendly and charming. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious food.

I ordered the lasagna and was pleasantly surprised by its generous portion size - it was as big as two hands! The dish was packed with cheese, ricotta, and layers of pasta, making for a satisfying meal. While they only offer soda or water to drink, the food was delicious and the restaurant had a casual and cool ambiance. The spacious, open layout of the restaurant made me feel relaxed and at ease, and the comfortable seating added to the overall experience.

Walking into this place I was totally not impressed. It looked dirty and cheap. I don't know how anyone in their right mind brags about this pre-packaged food that they microwave before they serve it to you. Disgraceful.

If you are looking for a casual spot to grab a drink, Cousins is an okay option. However, be prepared to pay $16 for a pitcher of local beer that has a bitter and moldy taste. Additionally, the menu features soggy knishes or samosas for $3 each. The establishment is more of a café rather than a deli or lounge. The level of service you receive may vary depending on the staff working that day. Overall, your experience at Cousins may be considered 'a-okay' if you are not approached by multiple people asking for cigarettes, overcharged on your bill, or have someone hit on your partner while spilling your drink.

Cousins is a really fun place to hang out . The people who work there are always welcoming and make you feel at home . It's busy often but not annoyingly loud like a lot of other places, has a nice buzz on Friday nights . The bar selection is small but charming and it's cool how big the menu is given the size of the kitchen. I've had many a knish there and their club sandwich is perfect . They also have cucumber water for whoever wants which is rare to find . I've always been meaning to go with a group to their New Years party which looks like a lot of fun . Maybe this year!
