Delicious soup and salad with rolls after we were seated! Good wine selection, good prices! Then the show started, powerful voices, well rehearsed and loved to Beatles tunes! A combination of the Downton Abbey hit, with all the main characters! A mystery guest who plays several roles well! Including a Saskatchewan Mountie! Some great humour tossed in for flavour! Great revolving set, good costumes! The wait Staff were excellent and attentive! The cast would mingle during the meal eating! Posing for pics, comic banter and fun! Audience members would intermix in a few performance scenes! Great place for birthdays, anniversaries as they ask Birthday people and those celebrating anniversaries to come to the stage! Fun! Dinner choices were a beef, curry chicken, fish and chips and a cheese pasta! The beef was tender and delicious, the chicken was good, a bit watery, the fish and chips were great! The only mention would be the dessert, nicely presented. The blueberry pie was not great, a bit gelatinous, with little flavour! But blueberry pie can be that way! Also for those not wanting sweet a nice little fresh fruit plate! Good coffee! The show continued in sections! Well done! Wait Staff costumed as well! Good acting! Overall, kudos to all! Another great time in Winnipeg! Great Manager Margaret, does a super job! Lovely box office Staff, and this is a 5 out of 5 Winnipeg Experience!
Hubby and I are staying at the Canad Inn on Pembina Hwy. and this Theatre happens to be in the same complex. It's an impressive looking Dinner Theatre and last night's performance had 250 guests. We bought our ticket the afternoon before and probably got the very farthest seat from the stage (Table 910), but.....although it would certainly be more fun a lot closer up, we had a good sight line and very much enjoyed the performance. The waiters and waitresses are dressed up in costume to match the Show's theme and we were announced as "Lord and Lady Irwin" as we entered. One waiter was dressed as the 'ghost' of Downton Abbey and he kept in character the entire evening floating about and delivering plates. He was really fun to watch. Both hubby and I ordered the Roast beef for dinner. It came with lovely potatoes and a nice gravy, broccoli and cauliflower. Starters were a very nice Santa Fe tortilla soup and a tossed salad with tomatoes, beets, lettuce, and cucumber with a strawberry vinaigrette dressing. I chose the blueberry pie with ice cream for dessert and hubby went with the tiramisu. Neither of us was a fan of the vinaigrette, just too sweet for our taste and I didn't like my blueberry pie as it didn't have a lot of flavour and tasted somewhat gelatinous, but other than that we very much enjoyed the entire meal and had a cup of tea and coffee at the end of our meal. (The tea was a tad on the cool side)The performers and the play/musical itself were awesome.Their voices loud and powerful and the sets were great. We very much enjoyed our evening at Celebrations Dinner Theatre. It's a very fun evening for people of all ages.If you are staying at the Fort Garry Canad Inn you get a 25% discount on tickets to the Dinner theatre. A good deal.
Attended Greased 2 and enjoyed the enthusiasm of the cast and the songs selected. The soup, salad and entree were fine but the dessert (some peach thing) left much to be desired. Our waiter, too, did not get into the spirit of the show, like some others we saw. Were never offered coffee and had to ask for refills of water. But the show made up for the meal.
My girlfriend and I went to this establishment. we were shown to the smallest table i had ever seen. Drinks were an outrageous price. Because the waiters are part of the scene they try to act the part. Food you were given 2 choices it was really boring and by the time we got our meal it was cold. There was barely enough room on the table for the salt and pepper.. After act 1 or 1/2 way through they brought up members of audience who were having a birthday or anniversary. Ho...Humm do I really care... It is set in a semi- circle so you could be on an angle like us. If you wanted your waiter or waitress during the meal forget it. I found it very pricey and poorly acted and I have been to other venues in Alberta (Mayfield in Edmonton and Stage west in Calgary.which are much better and the food is fabulous. I think Canad Inns are just in it for the money
Season ticket holders. We love the facility, really enjoy the serving staff and appreciate how our food continues to be of the highest quality. The music, the singers, the dancing and the performers - three years now and not a bad thing to say. Near and just above a senior in age husband and wife agree that we love how they "cater" to our age group. We recommend the place to everyone and one set of our close friends has joined us at our table with seasons tickets as well.
