Contribuiți la feedbackDined here for the 2nd time this year. Aboyer was as others have noted good food, casual, loud. Silencieux was slightly less noisy than Aboyer honestly. The decor is not much different than Aboyer. As a more upscale part of the building with a prix fixe menu it could use white tablecloths and some sound dampening. Dinner was okay, not stellar as others have rated. Service was not the fastest we've experienced. Food was good starters were escargot with mushrooms and lobster raviolo. Main was a tiny portion of dover sole with a delicious brown butter sauce and a crispy rice edamame starch that did not go with dish. Filet mignon was requested medium and came rare. Morel sauce with peas and potato lyonnaise was to die for though. Dessert was the highlight souffle' grand marnier with creme Anglaise. We will be back but will give it some time.
This is so much like the old Restaurant Michael: 3 course fixed price dinner. The space is tucked in the front of the old RM, which is now the revamped Aboyer. And Silencieux is quiet as the name suggests. Michael kept the cheese gourges from RM (yay), but the whipped potatoes can only be found at Aboyer (boo). The Dover sole served tableside has become a staple. Do indulge! Truth be told, I'm a Chef Michael groupie, and I do believe he could make rocks taste delicious. Silencieux will not disappoint. Chef usually makes his way around all 3 restaurants when he's there (which is almost always) and greets his guests. I think it's so important for a chef to know his patrons and lets them know that they are important to him. He does just that. His staff is 2nd to none. If there were more than 5 stars , he would get them. And if you are looking for an upscale brunch on Sunday, go to Aboyer. Yum.
Silencieux is Michaels 2.0, as many say. But it's better than that. Michael has rejuvenated his much loved Michaels into three restaurants. Aboyer, Silencieux and George Trois. Aboyer is the casual venue. Although the food is very good it is best suited for the younger crowd that is more comfortable with very loud restaurants. George Trois is the haute cuisine restaurant. I have not tried that but that's my understanding. And Silencieux. Well. Let's just say. It fits just right. It sits in a small, soberly elegant and much quieter room, thus the name. And the three course menu is exquisite. The Raviolo of Lobster, the Filet of Beef and the Suffolk Lamb are to die for. Maybe a bit cliche to say so, but it's true. The quality of the food and it's preparation is exceptional. Rivals the very best in Chicago. Oh. And lest I forget. Her Majesty's Old Fashioned is the best OF I have ever had. A wonderful combination of sweet and spicy. We are very fortunate that Michael continues to invest in our North Shore as his latest iteration of Michaels is simply the best.
Had a great dining experience here. Three course prix fixe menu with about five choices for a starter, five for a main course, and several options for dessert. Portion sizes were just right for us. We didn't leave hungry or overly full. Silencieux is directly adjacent to Aboyer, which is the more casual (and louder) bistro space. Understated but elegant decor, with only about a half dozen tables. Service was excellent. They offer valet parking but street parking right near the restaurant was available.
We loved our dinner in silencieux for the birthday of my mannes. eating was delicious with some cursor choices in the prix Fixe menu. it was a peaceful environment and easy to talk about dinner. can't wait to go back.
