Cousin's Cafe - Wingdale

For years, this was my favorite spot for fresh, well-prepared comfort food. However, since the change in ownership, Cousin's has sadly declined in quality. The new owner seems to be trying to maintain the same atmosphere, but corners are being cut, resulting in a noticeable decrease in the standard of food. The lunch specials have been reduced to simple, uninspired options and the once delicious dinners are now lackluster. I recently ordered a chicken soup and was disappointed to find it swimming in a heavy tomato-based broth - not what I consider a traditional chicken soup. The barley soup I ordered was so bad that I ended up feeding it to my dogs. My advice would be to rename the soup "Mediterranean chicken soup" so that customers don't expect a traditional version. The baked goods, once a highlight of Cousin's, are often stale by the time they reach my house. Although I appreciate the efforts of the staff, I believe they could benefit from some guidance to improve. I am giving two stars because the pizza is still good, but variety is important. I would recommend visiting another establishment for a better experience overall.

I ordered the chicken parmigiana sandwich and it was terrible. The sauce had large chunks of fat, and the chicken was not appetizing.

At first glance, Cousins Café may seem unassuming from the outside, but after visiting a few times, it became a favorite stop for us. The breakfast offerings are impressive, with generous portions that are ideal for fueling up before a long hike or day of adventure. In addition to their delicious baked goods, they also serve delicious brick oven pizza, making it a convenient one-stop shop whenever you visit. Overall, Cousins Café is a hidden gem that shouldn't be overlooked.

This is an excellent deli/pizza/speciality restaurant. the daily specialties are great, I had the filled paprika yesterday. pizza is the first advice and I am always happy with the sandwiches and salads. eat here!

I used to buy breakfast and lunch from them until one day that I got there at 11:05 am and asked for 4 breakfast sandwiches and I was told they will not serve breakfast after 11. Keep in mind there was nobody there. Because of this you lost me as a customer, because not too far from them I can get whatever I want at any time
