Mi Casita - Windsor

Heard lots of good things about this place. Decided to give it a try. Ordered for delivery but they had no driver. Told i could pick it up and so i did so. Ordered appetizers; Nachos and Ceviche. Beef Enchilada plate and Chicken Fajitas. Total order $44. Was told 15 to 20 minutes to pick it up. Got there in 15 minutes and was told the order would be served shortly. Noticed there there were only 6 diners in the restaurant so not busy. Staff told me there was no ground beef for the nachos so I opted for the pulled beef (bonus I was told) Food came about 5 minutes later soo...on time. Got home (5 minute drive) Beef on nachos cold!!!. Beef in enchiladas cold!!!. Tortillas for Fajitas cold!!! Rice barely warm!!. Beans warm Yeah! everything warm would have been nice but cold?? Called the restaurant and told them how disappointed I was. Also told them that I will let everyone i know about the awful food. So if you are ever in Windsor and you are looking for descent Mexican food go to Mexican village in Detroit or if time is short, Taco Bell in Windsor. Under no circumstances visit Mi Casita.

I was excited to try this and was pretty disappointed. They had no sangria and were out of mint for mojitos. We tried the recommended margarita and while there was lots of fresh lime, it was at best mediocre. You get chips and salsa once you put in your meal order, and the salsa was fresh but very watery. Some of my group were put off by feta cheese as the cheese in the various entrees. Cheddar was clearly available as it was melted on the burrito, but wasn't offered as an option. The ceviche as an appetizer was quite bland. I enjoyed my burrito but those in our party who had beef tacos described them as "pulled pork with no taste" (and they were beef.) Prices were high for what you got, too. Just not impressed.

We dined last night as part of the Windsor Eats program. They had a special fixed price meal for this event. We were offered 3 choices of an appetizer, 3 main courses and 2 options for dessert. The food was plated so elegantly and the flavours were amazing. We really enjoyed our evening.

I was really looking forward to authentic Mexican cuisine. This was NOT it. The only thing that reminded me of Mexico was the very poor standards of cleanliness in the bathroom.The rice and refried beans were dismal. I wouldn't go again

A bit on the noisy side if it is crowded, but the food is great! The wait staff is efficient, drinks are cold and priced reasonably. What a wonderful little hideaway to be visited on less busy night.
