Contribuiți la feedbackThe wait for coffee at this restaurant is atrocious. The barista seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that several customers are waiting for their orders. It's unacceptable for her to be chatting away with a friend while customers patiently wait for their coffee.
The final straw was when I stopped by for a coffee on my way to work. I waited patiently to order while a previously rude employee engaged in a social conversation with another customer, which was not ideal but tolerable. I then waited patiently for my coffee, only to realize that three people who ordered after me had already received their drinks. The employee noticed my continued wait and spoke to the barista who then asked me what I had ordered (as they had lost my order). While I returned my order, albeit frustrated and running late, I remained polite. The barista promised to make my coffee right away, mentioning that they wouldn't want me to wait too long. Insecure about how to handle the situation, I was taken aback by the unnecessary delay given that I had not made a big deal about my lost order. Once my coffee was finally made, the barista handed it to me with a dismissive tone, wishing me a wonderful day in a childish manner. The previously rude staff member then looked up and smirked, adding insult to injury. The unprofessional behavior displayed by the staff, especially considering it was their fault, was completely unacceptable. Instead of confronting them directly, I chose to leave quietly and vowed never to return. I highly recommend avoiding Soldier at all costs.
This restaurant is a fantastic and lively spot to gather. Customers can purchase food from any place on Chapel Street in Prahran, then bring it here to enjoy with a glass of wine or coffee. It's perfect for a relaxing afternoon coffee or cake. The coffee here is exceptional. The staff are always positive and cheerful, nothing is too much trouble for them. It's a popular spot, so waiting in line for coffee is common, but in the evenings the atmosphere is very inviting. Give it a try, we absolutely loved it.
The wait for coffee here is so bad. The barrister just keeps talking away like no one is waiting for their coffee. I would have thought that if there were 4 people waiting for coffee, talking to a friend would be on the back burner for a few minutes whilst you serve paying customers?
I visited Soldier On when it first opened, and had some terrible customer service.I figured this was just teething issues of a new cafe, so have since returned three times to be fair. It's really close to home, some of the staff were great, so I was willing to reserve judgement for a while.Previous visits included being completely ignored for service for over 10 minutes (they weren't busy), lost coffee orders, and a generally dismissive and rude staff member. The last visit & last straw was stopping in for a coffee on the way to work.Waited patiently to order while the previously rude staff member had a social conversation with another customer - not ideal, but not a big deal.Waited patiently for my coffee, noticing that three people who ordered after me had received their coffees already. At this point, the previously rude staff member noticed I was still waiting, and spoke to the barista, who then asked me what I'd ordered (they'd lost my order). I gave my order again, though I'm sure I didn't sound thrilled (now running late), I was most definitely still polite. Barista then says "I'll get right on that then, would not want to keep you waiting any longer" in a particularly condescending way. Unsure what I did to cop such attitude, it wasn't like I had made a big deal about my lost coffee order. When my coffee was made, barista hands over my coffee and says "you have a looooovely day" in a childish tone.Previously rude staff member looks on and smirks. Completely hideous behaviour, particularly considering this was their mistake.I didn't need to get annoyed and rude with them in person, I'm speaking with my feet and never returning again. Avoid at all costs.
