Contribuiți la feedbackWe visited the Barleycorn for a fish and chip supper. The food was ok, the fish and batter were good, but an extremely small portion of chips. Luckily my wife doesn 't have a big appetite! However, the atmosphere was appalling. We did not appreciate the proprietor (we assume) walking around in very casual shorts which constantly required adjusting and wearing, some of the time, flip flops; at other times nothing on his feet! For the 'pleasure ' of the evening 's experience we paid £47.00, two fish and chips, one pint of beer, one large white wine. We have been visiting the Barleycorn for 25 years and this rates as the worst ever visit. Needless to say this is the final visit.
Stayed overnight with my children during a walking holiday. A warm and welcoming venue. Rooms were well presented and comfortable. Food was locally scoured and well cooked.
Stayed here overnight with my two boys whilst doing a walking holiday. Warmly welcomed by Tom and the staff on arrival . Rooms were fantastic, very roomy for three people and very clean and presented with little touches of tea, coffee, biscuits and shower gels etc. Food was freshly cooked and plenty of it. The bar had a good selection of local beers too. All in all a very nice little find. Will definitely stay again if passing.
The food was incredible, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were extremely friendly. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely return for their Sunday roast.
Tom and Terry were incredibly welcoming at this charming country pub. They had a pool table, showed rugby games, served great pints, and offered delicious food. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with friendly staff willing to help with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place, 10/10!
