I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant that served delicious fish and chips in a traditional setting. Despite being very busy, the staff managed to provide fast and efficient service. I was impressed by the hard work of the two front of house employees. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Always lovely chips, fresh and tasty with decent sized portions too. I visit around twice per month and consistently good. Sadly always short staffed so a long wait even for a single portion of chips and the speaking and shouting at one another in Polish can feel a little intimating. I am very pro using cash and a anti cashless society but when a business only takes cash its usually to avoid tax. Nearest cash machine is at Co-Op which is a 8 min walk away or 2 min drive.
While staying at Sandy Balls, my partner and I were in the mood for fish and chips one evening. After hearing negative reviews about a local spot in Fordingbridge, we decided to make the drive to Downton to try Spinnakers (formerly known as Spinnakers). It was definitely worth the extra effort! The fish was excellent - big, flaky, and delicious. The portion size was generous, and the curry sauce was also very good. We would highly recommend this place. Just a note, they only accept cash, but they were accommodating and took our order while we went to the ATM. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
We had a terrible experience at this fish and chip shop. The staff were incredibly rude and abusive. When we realized there was a piece of fish missing from our order, we went back to address the issue. A member of the staff was extremely threatening and accused us of lying. It was a very unpleasant situation.
