El Metapaneco - Wilmington

When you read reviews about the wait time, believe it. Ordered our food at 12:20pm when the line was empty, was told it'd take 35-45 min, which is what we expected. Asked for their spicy sauce and was told it might be ready when our food was done, no prob. An hour later I was told food still wasn't ready. And finally at 1:35pm was told it was ready. I asked about the spicy sauce and the woman at the counter asked angrilly if i paid for it. I said I hadn't, wasn't told I needed to, and offered to pay. She ignored me and asked the man who originally offered the sauce and he said it wasn't ready, which was fine but the quality of food wasn't the same. Lady was polite to her regular customers (calling them by name), taking and filling their orders in 20 min or less so maybe focus on orders as they come instead of expediting your friends' orders...

A wait time of almost a whole hour for 2 pupusas to go aint it man

I'm the only Salvadoran in our work office. They wanted to order lunch and I suggested Salvadoran food and they order from El Metapaneco through Door Dash. It was a toatal failure! The missed a shrimp plate for one of my supervisor. Our secretary was missing a pupusa. They sent us 6 pupusas without curtido and tomato sauce My pupusas were dried with very little filling. I was so embarrassed. You guys made sure to give Salvadorans a bad name.

Salvadorian food, prices are acceptable, just be aware that they do take a long time to prepare your meal, I'd say around hour and 30 minutes easily, so don't go hungry because it'll be painful to wait. But the food taste good and the ambient is relaxing, no loud music, maybe a sooner game on the TV's they have hanging on walls.Parking: There's plenty of parking on the lot and on the streets, though I never had to park on the street, there's usually parking .

I would give it another star but the service was horrible.. the lady server had a bad attitude. This place is not a get and go..you'll have to wait at least 30 min to get your food. Pupusas were ok. I can make them the same at home..lol Chicarron and yucca were delish!
